Review+Swatches - Chanel Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow
I’m sure more than half the country is ready to talk spring but I can only deliver a spring collection, sorry! But it’s from CHANEL so you know it will be some nice springy colors to give you something to look forward to.
The Collection Notes de Printemps was inspired by the sunny duality of lightness and brightness that creates a harmony of pastels, electric pinks and vivid purples. Let’s look at one of the eye products, shall we?
Their Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadows ($36 @ chanel.com) are some of my favorites that they make so I’m glad to see they are continuing to add shades. The shadow itself is quite interesting to look at so I tried to get many different angles of it.
The color is called #92 Diapason, and described as a luminous deep purple ($36), and while it looks like a true purple in the container, when I applied it, it looked more brown with luminous teeny tiny bits of purple shimmer to it. It has a spongy gel texture to the touch in the glass container and very buildable to be more purple than brown, which is nice since I find purple shadows in this range to be tricky to wear. For some reason I sometimes feel like the end result I get is that of a black eye so I always try to make sure that I blend any purple in this range with another lighter color like pink or beige. But since this is buildable, I can wear it alone pretty sheer without worrying.
Oh the trials and tribulations of a beauty lover!
Is this one you will be adding to your list of must haves?
