Review+Swatches - Ardency Inn Long Play Lip Vinyl
OhMahGodBecky, Lookatherbutt, no! Look at these lippies!! Wow! They’re from the new line, ARDENCY INN, and this is my first experience trying anything from it. From what I read, the whole brand seems right up my alley. Citing the New York music scene as a major influence, they’ve divided up the makeup line three collections:
- Americana - natural tones inspired by the multi-cultural heritage and effortless beauty of downtown New York
- Punker – Edgy blacks inspired by the darkly rimmer eyes and fierce attitude of punk rockers
- Modster – Upbeat colors inspired by the mod subculture of high fashion and all-night clubs.
I of course was instantly attracted to the Modster Collection and the Long Play Lip Vinyl ($23 @ ardencyinn.com and urbanoutfitters.com). These are a liquid lipsticks with mega shine and coverage. So how did they fair? Click after the jump to see!
These colors are just so much fun and the formula is thick with color (I’m sick of saying/hearing, “it’s really pigmented…”) and like a good liquid lipstick, the formula is light, thin and non-sticky.
I got an average of 3 hours of wear out of these but I was really hoping that as they faded each would leave a nice looking stain behind. It didn’t happen with these, oh well. And like with some liquid lipsticks, they can bleed, if your lips are prone to that. Overall these stayed in place pretty well with the exception of the purpley Dubstep Remix. That one started to bleed about 5 minutes after I put it on so I would play it safe and wear these with a lip primer.
Oh and the sponge on the application wand! They gave it a nice sexy curve so it really hugs lips. Gotta love when a brand thinks of these kinds of details.
From L to R: Club Remix (magenta base + purple reflect), Dubstep Remix (black base + pink reflect), Original Mix (red base + orange and pink reflects), Studio Mix (melon base + orange reflect).
