What Lighted Mirror Do You Use to Put Your Makeup On?

Two weeks ago it seems like the moon was in retrograde (it wasn’t) as some of my electronic items started going wacky. My wireless connection to my TV and Internet was spotty for two days, and then, getting ready for a party one night, my makeup mirror kicks the bucket. Dunzo! So immediately, I started perusing online as this needed to be replaced asap. I could get the same Conair one I just had with the 3 light adjustment levels I never used (day, indoors, eve. Mine was permanently on day because it was the brightest), and then I came across this one, the Sensor Mirror from SIMPLE HUMAN. Wow, why the steep price tag? And what makes this one different from the others I was used to? And why oh why, the steep price? I mean I was used to applying my makeup in my bedroom and then going into the bathroom to apply blush, so I didn’t go out looking like a clown. That alone should have been the indication that my current situation wasn’t really working but I honestly didn’t think anything of it.

What I’m Using … Right Now!

WATER JEL Burn Jel Plus ($9.99/4oz @ – yup I burned myself with my curling iron. And just last week I was scoffing at this product that protects against burns on the ears! Well mine was on my neck so I’m glad I had this on hand to not only to soothe it right after it happened but to help it heal.

CUCCIO Sugar Scrub in Vanilla Bean & Sugar ($29.98/19.5oz @ – Maybe it’s my sweet tooth but I seem to gravitate towards sugar scrubs over salt scrubs. And this Vanilla Bean & Sugar smells like a cupcake. Yum!

B-LEVE b impeccable Foundation Brush ($7.49 @ – I just picked up Armani’s Maestro Foundation to try out and have been using it with this great foundation brush. It’s just the right width and fits comfortably in my hand. And the best part? The price!

DERMORGANIC Daily Conditioning Shampoo ($5.99/3oz, $16/12oz @ – this one is sulfate-free and safe for color-treated hair (it’s not a color support(it) shampoo though), and it contains nutrients both hair and skin depend on, it can be used from head to toe. Yup, the hair and then on the skin. Now that’s a first!

LOLITA LEMPICKA Elle L’Aime EDP ($100/2.5oz @ – this scent, meaning “She Loves” en Francois, is certainly not a one note kinda scent. It’s multi-dimentional with top notes of Bergamot, Neroli, and lime, coconut, ylang-ylang and jasmine as the middle notes, all on a base of Myrrh,  vanilla and sandalwood. Very unique.

SEBASTIAN SIGNS Purusa Dream Extract ($28/1oz @ – what a great way to help you fall asleep. This luxury pillow spray combines sandalwood, organic clary sage and bergamot to make drifting off into lala land enjoyable and soothing. This smells so good, I would wear it as an everyday fragrance.

SEPHORA + Pantone Universe Jumbo Waterproof Eye Pencil Elemental Energy in Earth – Shark (shimmering shark gray) ($17 @ – this collection was inspired by the four elements (quick, name them!!) and this shimmery gray is wonderful by itself or when used to blend two colors together.

Disclosure: Some of these items were provided for review purposes. Some I bought.

Why I Like It: She may have it all but she for sure does not have this and she needs it! This piece of heat resistant silicone (up to 500°) will hold your hot styling tools while you’re doing your hair, waiting for the iron to heat up/cool down or you can use it just for storage. The flat flap on the piece will cling to your porcelain sink or any other non-porous surface like a desk, toilet back or many others. And perfect if you have a super small bathroom, like me. Choose from pink, white, purple or black.

How to Get THEE Smoothest Legs without Shaving!

I’ve been doing the following for a while now and wow, I must say, it works! Just use any VEET hair removal cream or lotion (I like their Spray On Cream Hair Remover Sensitive Formula with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E and also their Fast Acting Gel Cream Hair Remover Tube with Essential Oils) and leave it on for the few minutes as recommended and then squeegee it off with LE EDGE exfoliating tool instead of the spatula the Veet products comes with. Not only are you removing the dead skin from your legs with the Le Edge but you are removing the Veet along with the hairs. I mean you have to use something to remove the Veet and hair so why not this super close skin exfoliating tool? My legs have never felt this smooth for this long before. Try it! You’ll be a convert.

Le Edge Full Body Exfoliator – choose from blue or pink for $6.45 @

Veet available for $6.99 and up @

Let me know if you try this and how it works for you!!
