Review+Swatches - LAQA & Co. Lil' Lip Duo
Have you heard of this LAQA & Co. line yet? It started with a nail polish pen is now branching out into other categories of makeup like these lippies I tried here. Their based in New York and what sets them apart from the super saturated beauty world is that each product is a piece of art too. I mean, packaging and design is just almost as important as the actual product, right? To me it is a big part of the overall experience of a product.
This LAQA & Co. like feature up-and-coming artist's designs on their packaging with each artist getting a cut of the profits from every product purchased. Nice to profit share like that!
And they give a little background on each artist on their site, so you can learn more about each one.
Take this Lil’ Lip Duo ($16 @ dermstore.com) shown here. The artist was Turkish illustrator and designer Ali Gulec and he seems to specialize in abstract pieces.
And he also has the design from this packaging he did as his Twitter background here.
The two pinks in this duo are Lambchop (blue-based fuchsia) and Pinkman (bubblegum pink) and these are infused with Shea Butter for hydration and are really nicely pigmented. These really are a great quality!
So if you like a little art with your makeup, check this line out.
Disclosure: A sample of this item was provided for review purposes.
This is fantastic! I love that LAQA & Co. shares some of the profits with the artist and they use indie artists! The lip pencils look really nice. Thanks for the review!

HI Kitsch Vixen, I know. Very rare, huh to share profits! Seems like a win for both sides, if you ask me.
