Review+Swatches - Kjaer Weis Eye Shadow

I’ve been wanting to try something from the KJAER WEIS for a moment now and I finally got my paws on an Eye Shadow.($44 @ net-a-porter.com) The one shown here is called Pretty Purple and it really is pretty.

First, a little about the cool brand with the innovative packaging. Packaging is everything to me and it’s pretty rare to come across something so unique! I want to house this in the grain-textured cardboard container it came in. The creator of the packaging is Marc Atlan and all of them compacts are refillable and the cardboard container is totally recyclable.

The Founder of the brand is Danish-born New York based makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis saw an unfilled niche and launched the line in 2010 based on organic formulations with luxury packaging. A woman after my own heart!

Though it seems to fall more into the brown category in on the skin, in the compact, it is a dark matte purple with just a tiny bit of shimmer specs. This is not a shimmer shadow though and you certainly don’t see shimmer on the skin after applying it.

As far as longevity, I’m pretty married to my eye shadow primer, so I test all shadows wearing one now. This one lasted for about 6 hours before starting to fade.

Coming this year from the brand is a refillable mascara, a cream foundation and powder.

Will you be checking out this line?
