Is this the Concealer You've Been Looking for Your Whole Life?

Temptu-Pro-Concealer-WheelIt’s hard to tell what concealer shade is best for you and let’s face it, the color on our face changes throughout the year. That’s why I recommend buying a product that gives you a selection to choose from like this TEMPTU PRO Concealer Wheel ($26 @ This allows you to mix and match depending on your tone for the time of the year. I started using a brush with these but resigned to my fingertips in combining the colors as it’s just so much easier! The shades are really creamy but not too soft and they are easy to blend together. And remember, always apply concealers after foundation., Inc.

*New Review* Dolce & Gabbana The Foundation Perfect

Dolce-&-Gabbana-The-Foundation-Perfect-Luminous-Liquid-FoundationHow hard is it to find a good foundation? I mean, what do you look for in a foundation and do you try a lot of them out or have one you use just at night vs day? I tend to nest with mine and only fluctuate between maybe one or two liquids and one kind of mineral powder.

Out this month from DOLCE & GABBANA is The Foundation Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation and Perfect Matte Concealer. Long gone are the days you have to worry about shiny skin from a foundation! Remember those days? The foundation is a soft matte that contains their own Matte Adapt Complex that self-corrects signs of imperfection with illuminating particles of light-reflecting mica. A thinking foundation?? While this technology is not new, I found that this one gave me light coverage and really didn’t look like I was wearing anything on my face; it just evened out my tone, which I think we are all always looking for with foundation. Available in 15 shades.

The Perfect Matte Concealer also contains the complex and is available in 6 shades. $59/1oz @

Will you be adjusting your summer makeup?

Spring Hair Must Haves

Spring-Hair-Must-Haves-Natural-Essentials-ECRU-VerbNATURAL ESSENTIALS Healing Dry Oil ($9.99/1.5oz @ Walgreens and Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide) – this is a new line that gives you some of the salon quality at a great price. This one still contains silicones, which are not bad) but also Monoi, Dragonfruit and Camellia to help smooth out and keep frizzies far away. And this one can be used on color-treated hair.

ECRU Acacia Protein Oil ($30/1.7oz @ – this one contains acacia collagen found in the acacia tree in Africa. If you have dry and damaged hair, this one will help you get your strands back to into shape. This one also contains argon oil and protects against heat tools. Big recommendation.

VERB Finishing Polish ($12/2.5oz @ – I’m a big fan of smoothing creams. They are great for taming flyaways and just adding a final touch to your hairdo (yes, I said hairdo!). This line comes to us from Austin, TX (yeehaw!) and just like the name, they mean action! This one contains green tea, bamboo extracts, and argan oil to tame and keep strands in place.

Looking for Luxury? Agraria Can Help.

As I’ve mentioned here before, I’m a sucker for a fancy soap. Just a seemingly plain bar of soap because in this case, presentation is everything! A new line to me is this AGRARIA brand. Built on the premise of ‘wrapped-and-ready-to-give,’ the brand was thinking eco-friendly long before it was hip when it comes to packaging. The first location sprouted up in San Francisco in 1970 and now their products can be found in locations all around the world.

Agraria-Luxury-Bath-Bar-in-Lemon-VerbenaThis Luxury Bath Bar is my first taste of the line and it’s been a good bite! Their soaps are triple-milled and come in 8 scents and contain olive oil, vitamin E, Shea Butter, Yucca Oil, Kukui Oil and sea fennel, so they not only look good, they have function. The one I tried is the Lemon Verbena and it’s the perfect scent for the spring.

Yes, it’s a little pricey at $20 but when you are looking to treat yourself, isn’t it worth it? Get it and other products @

*New Review* Three Sisters Apothecary Body Butter

I’m no stranger to the benefits of the salve and what’s better than one from an Indy? As you see from the name here, THREE SISTERS APOTHECARY’s Sweet Orange & Coconut Body Butter is called a body butter but it looks and feels more like a salve. Call it what you will, it still has the same skin yumminess.

Three-Sisters-Apothecary-Sweet-Orange-&-Coconut-Body-ButterI won’t bore you with ingredient talk … mmm, maybe I will because it’s short and oh so sweet: shea butter, coconut oil, avocado butter, cocoa butter, beeswax, sweet orange essential oil, coconut extract, vitamin E, sensitive skin complex (marshmallow and coconut milk). That’s it!

I’m not even going to go on and on about how nourishing and nice this feels on the skin because you can probably tell it is by reading the above ingredient list.

Three-Sisters-Apothecary-Sweet-Orange-&-Coconut-Body-Butter-insidesYes, it’s a little greasy, but aren’t all good moisturizers? This one is worth the payoff.

$15/4oz @, Inc.

Review+Swatches - Bare Escentuals Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks

BARE ESCENTUALS just came out with some new lippies call Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks ($18 @ Launching this month, the collection is 18 colors strong and I can’t tout these more. Not only is the pigment off the chain (the swatches I did for this are 1 swipe!), but for a seemingly everyday lipstick, they last longer than ones I tried. I mean, I got about 4 hours off of these, which is almost unheard of for a non longwearing lippie, right?

KATE SOMERVILLE Somerville360º Face Self Tanning Pads ($45/12 pads @ – they took their self-tanning formula and put it in these wicked easy to use pad pods. Just slip three fingers into the sleeve and work into your skin. Not only do they leave a nice natural color in just 2 to 4 hours but no stink!

Dry Clean Your Strands with Joico Instant Refresh

Joico-Instant-Refresh-Dry-ShampooI’m a sucker for dry shampoo but not so much that I’ll put up with white residue as an aftermath. You just don’t have to these days as there are many great ones out there now. One of them is JOICO’s Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo. This one refreshes strands and absorbs oils using their own trademarked Bio-Advanced Peptide Complex, which is a combination of Aluminum Starch, willow and manuka extracts to help with strand reconstruction. Now that’s a step more than most.

And did I mention, no white residue? Need I say more? $17.99/6.2oz @
