Product Review: POP Beauty Peak Performance Mascara

I must admit I was a little perplexed when I first saw POP BEAUTY’s Peak Performance Mascara ($20 @ dermstore.com) as it is totally untraditional. The application “wand” looks more like a venus fly trap but it’s pretty easy to use – just click the bottom of the pen to bring the color to the top, wiggle the comb from the root to the tip of the lashes a few times, and voila, mascara'd lashes; essentially you are just combing through the lashes with color. For the middle lashes, just re-angle the comb and proceed the same as the outer lashes.

So how do I like it overall? Click after the pic!

What I like about this mascara – the formula is nice and it separates and defines, not big on volumizing, which is fine. There was no flaking or clumping and it wore nicely for quite a few hours.

What I think can use improvement – Would be great if they had interchangeable application heads like one that is straight across to really get at those middle lashes.

Available in Brilliant Black, Cocoa Charm and Inky Indigo (shown here).
