I have long had a saying that when it comes to makeup, if it’s long wear, I’m there! And so I was excited to try BENEFIT’s new Longwear Powder Shadows, from the Color … By Benefit collection hitting shelves in March.
These colors come in three different finishes, depending on your mood: matte, satin and sheen. So how did these perform overall compared to yesterdays cream versions? Click after the jump!
BENEFIT just put out some new eye shadows called Creaseless Cream Shadows in their latest collection coming up in early March called Color … By Benefit. Inspired by the Art Deco design of the Golden Gate Bridge, the collection gives us some eye shadows (cream and powder), lip glosses and lipsticks. Let’s take a look at the Creaseless Cream Shadows first. They are available in 12 colors but while the packaging is brand new, this product isn’t. They put out a version of a few of these back in 2009, so some are new and some are a relaunch.
New: Bikini-tini (oyster pink), No Pressure! (rich fawn), My Two Cents (polished copper), Always A Bridesmade (pearly lavender), Blue My Mind (arctic blue), Bronze Have More Fun (antique bronze), Holy Smokes! (smoldering charcoal).
Relaunch: R.S.V.P. (sparkling champagne), Birthday Suit (brushed chrome), Skinny Jeans (pretty pewter)

At no other time do I feel beauty A.D.D. then when it comes to the category of nail polish. Say I’m feeling a beige and put it on my 10 digits, about 1 to 2 days later, I’m ready for a vibrant pink, and then 1 to 2 days after that, it’s time for something shimmery and vampy and it’s not always in this order! I just can’t make up my mind when it comes to polishes so most of the time, I just don’t wear anything because as soon as one nail begins to chip, it all has to come off. Yup, call me high maintenance in the nail department, I guess.
But I do have to say, these 3 Le Vernis Nail Colours from CHANEL Spring Color Collection, seem to be covering all my color bases.
Anytime I just see any version of orange in new beauty products coming out, I automatically think Spring, and it just gets me giddy! Someone pointed out to me the other day that we are about 2 months away from the official first day of the season, so it only makes sense to start exploring what we’ll be wearing soon enough.
Who doesn’t need to Brighten, Sparkle & Glow? Well BOBBI BROWN knows we all want to so it’s fitting to put out a collection that puts all eyes on your when you enter a room. Sitting on the heels in my mind of this one, her Brightening Finishing Powder combines all the colors to illuminate and create healthy glow.
And Ms. Brown infused hers with a blend of Mulberry, Grape and Scutellaria extracts as well as Sodium Hyaluronate, which is known to help keep moisture in the skin. And a big plus since this one easily tucks into the evening purse for touch-ups. $50 @ macys.com.

Two huge questions looming over this year’s IMATS (International Make-up Artist Trade Show) show in Pasadena, CA this past weekend – where was Nyx? Where was Make Up For Ever? Two huge brands that always had huge set ups in this show but both were no shows this year. I wonder what’s up.
Anyway, it was super busy, as it is every year at the show, and I of course made a list of things/companies I wanted to check out. Want to see what I hauled? Here's the pic and click after the jump to see the list!
To say that I am pretty much in love with the IT COSMETICS line right now is an understatement. Each product I have tried has a reason to be there and is outstanding in its category. Nothing worse than a product that is put out just for the sake of it, which is pretty common in makeup lines.
The latest I tried is their No-Tug Silk Anti-Aging Waterproof Eyeliner and as the name states, this one contains some anti-aging ingredients like Collagen, Hydrolyzed Silk and Anti-oxidants though I’m not sure these cover enough skin to really make a difference and I think it’s more of a schtick, but I digress.
Let’s look at the basics of these – do they apply nicely, last and how’s the pigmentation?

I’ve always been a fan of the HARD CANDY line and even had their Eye Shadow Quads in the Hall of Fame for many years (they are discontinued and so I had to remove them). They were one of the first lines to really go deep into eye shadow and turn out some really unique shades. So I was really excited to hear about their Top Ten Eye Shadow Collection.
I must admit I was a little perplexed when I first saw POP BEAUTY’s Peak Performance Mascara ($20 @ dermstore.com) as it is totally untraditional. The application “wand” looks more like a venus fly trap but it’s pretty easy to use – just click the bottom of the pen to bring the color to the top, wiggle the comb from the root to the tip of the lashes a few times, and voila, mascara'd lashes; essentially you are just combing through the lashes with color. For the middle lashes, just re-angle the comb and proceed the same as the outer lashes.
So how do I like it overall? Click after the pic!
