Review - Sally Hansen Insta-Gel Strips
I think we’ve reach a plateau when it comes to the nail appliqués/gel manicures. And now a product that seems to combine them both – SALLY HANSEN Insta-Gel Strips Starter Kit. It combines the quickness of the nail appliqué with the curing of the LED lamp. So how did it fare? Click after the jump to find out!
This kit contains a Mini LED Lamp, 16 Gel Polish Strips (choose from three different colors – Red My Lips, Shall We Dance and Wine Not (shown below on nails)), Gel Top Coat, 2 Nail Cleanser Pads, Cuticle Stick, File/Buffer and instructions.
Like the nail appliqués, just pick the one that best fits the width of your nail, peel off the backing and apply to the nail. Then, apply a gel top coat and cure it all in the Mini LED Lamp for 30 seconds, one swipe of the cleansing nail pad and your digit is done.
So how did it do? Pretty good! Removal sure beats the foil wrapped around each fingertip. All you use to remove the color is Acetone and a little elbow grease (pressure). Overall I’d give this a B+.
What I liked: the shine on the color stayed for the whole time I wore them and didn’t fade at all. This was a very easy process and quite to do. The strips are very pliable as you can see in one picture, so you can get a nice tight seal.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t get 2 weeks like they claimed. A couple of the corners started to lift on the 8th day.
Would I do this again? Yes.
$27.99 @ amazon.com. And I just saw on their site here that you can now buy just the strips for $13.99 and there are quite a few available. Is this something you will try out?
