Flora by GUCCI: The Flora Garden Collection

GUCCI Rush is still one of my all-time favorite scents so I always make it a point to give each fragrance the brand comes out with a whiff. The latest is Flora by GUCCI: The Flora Garden Collection, and it’s hard to pick just one favorite out of the five - Gorgeous Gardenia, Gracious Tuberose, Glamorous Magnolia, Generous Violet, and Glorious Mandarin.

Flora-by-GUCCI-The-Flora-Garden-CollectionInspired by their most iconic motif shown here and brought to the forefront by Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini back in 2005 and again with this perfume collection, wouldn’t you love to have a scarf in this motif?

Gucci-Flora-PatternAnyway, like I said it’s been hard to pick a favorite out of the 5 blossom-based perfumes but I seem to be reaching for the Gorgeous Gardenia most often. It has top notes of red berries and pear, middle notes of white gardenia, frangipangi flower on a base of patchouli and brown sugar accord. It’s just so dainty and sexy!

Gucci-Flora-by-Gucci-Gorgeour-GardeniaCan you see yourself in one of these scents? $100/100ml @ macys.com.

MOR Lip Macaron

MOR-Lip-Macaron-in-Lychee-FlowerNot of fan of sticking my fingers into my balms, this MOR COSMETICS Lip Macaron is the perfect circumference to swipe directly from the tin to my top lip and then bottom lip. They call it a lip gloss but I’d call it more of a lip balm as feels more like one and contains vitamin E and I don't know many glosses that contain vitamins.

And packaging is so important when it comes to luring a woman to your product and MOR fully understands this! Isn't it fun? Available in 7 scents and show here in Lychee Flower. $10 @ morboutique.com.

IT Cosmetics Says Hello Lashes!

It-Cosmetics-Hello-Lashes-mascaraIn addition to having an outstanding formula, you must have a wand that also not run-of-the-mill. Yes, we all want length, volume … we want it all and while the wand itself wasn’t changed for many years, it seems to be a tad tweaked with every new mascara that hits the shelves.

The latest one I tried is getting some big raves from me. I think IT COSMETICS has found a way to achieve the best of both worlds when it comes to the mascara wand – they’ve incorporated the cool ball that the Givenchy mascara uses, calling it the Lash Ball Detainler, on the tip of a regular, well, maybe not regular, but more normal looking mascara wand and call it Hello Lashes! I think because if you couldn’t even see your lashes before, hold on because this one will make them so long, you’ll be saying Hello Lashes!

They call this is a 5-in-1 Treatment Mascara that is voluminzing, conditioning, hydrating lash primer, lash-enhancing serum, lash tint and lash comb/curler. Hmm, not sure about some of those but I do know it makes my lashes very defined and really long. Great product! $20 @ ulta.comamazon.com.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist

Jurlique-Rosewater-Balancing-MistI’m a big fan of the JURLIQUE line. Each product I’ve tried has been good and there’s just something reassuring about knowing that they personally grow the majority of the ingredients in their own backyard in Australia.

The timing of this next one was perfect since it’s been a tad on the hot side lately. Their Rosewater Balancing Mist has been tucked inside my bag since I got it last week since its ideal for cooling down and hydrating the skin without messing with my makeup. It’s made for normal/combo skin and contains Marshmallow and glycerin as well as rosewater, aloe and grapefruit seed. And it has such a nice delicate rose scent to it. $22/3.3oz @ dermstore.comnet-a-porter.com.

The line has quite a few other face mists like the Purely Bright Mist ($34/3.3oz), which contains their VITABRIGHTKX to help with an uneven skin tone. Could the future of our face fixers all be coming to us in the forms of mists?

Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder

Tatcha-Polished-Classic-Rice-Enzyme-PowderWhen was the last time you went through your makeup to throw out old items? Hair care products? What about skin care? Lately I’ve become a little sketchy about a face product if it comes in a pot and I have to put my finger in it to grab some. I usually try and use one of those small spatulas that come with some of them but most of the time I don’t have one handy. It gets me wondering how much I contaminate my own product over and over every time I use it.

One that I know I am safe with in more ways than one is with this TATCHA Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder. First, it comes as a powder that activates when you apply water so it won’t spoil over time and secondly it has a small dispenser that you slide open and tap-tap about 1 teaspoon's worth into the palm of your hand, so no sticking any fingers anywhere inside of it.

Now about the formula itself – it’s composed of rice brand, papaya and their own HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex to help gently exfoliate, as well as finely crushed seawater pearls that help brighten the skin. $65/2.1oz @ qvc.comsephora.com.
