IT Cosmetics Helps Me Say Bye Bye

It-Cosmetics-Bye-Bye-Under-EyeI’ve become a little obsessed with this next product, as it might be the best I’ve ever seen in this category. It’s a concealer from IT COSMETICS. Bye Bye Under Eye is a full-coverage, waterproof concealer that can be used under eyes, over blemishes, age spots and it really covers beautifully without creasing or caking.

Because the skin under the eyes is so thin and delicate, whenever you put concealer underneath, you run the risk creasing and cracking over time but not with this Bye Bye. It really melts into the skin to become one. Behold, they are one!

The founder worked with leading plastic surgeons in Brazil to create this product and they included a lot of good-for-skin ingredients like vitamins K, A, C, E and Collagen to help with puffiness and overall discoloration.

I’m surprised that this comes in a 1oz tube as it’s really pigmented so a little goes a long way and because it is in a tube, I don’t have to worry about contamination. Big recommendation. Available in 4 shades for $24/1oz @ ulta.comamazon.com.

Latest In Airbrush Makeup - Belloccio

I’ve tried a few of the lines and I really believe we’ve reached the next level when it comes to airbrush makeup and it’s called BELLOCCIO. Their system contains anti-aging moisturizers like Hyaluronic Acid and aloe (this was just a matter of time though, right?). Airbrush makeup has definitely taken off and it’s not just for the professional person as I know a few people who use it as their everyday makeup. As far as the technique goes, the only challenge is finding your perfect shade, which for the average person can be just that, a challenge. With Belloccio, they try to make it less daunting by having you choose your color palette on their site. The shade families are: Fair, Medium Tan and Dark. Not too difficult. Each color set will include 4 shades (also a bottle of white and black) that fall into that color family – cool, neutral, warm, again, whichever fall into that tone family. Try one of the shades and you may find that you have to add 3 drops of one and then 1 drop of a darker one to get your exact shade. Yes, it will take some time to get the right color but that’s kind of the fun of this kind of makeup. Because once you know your mixture, you can up or down it a little depending on the time of year.

Belloccio-Standard-Foundation-Kit
Items start at $49.99 and go up from there depending on if you get colors in addition to the foundations. I recommend the Starter Kit, which includes the compressor, airbrush w/hose, foundation set, blush trio pack, bronzer, their Anti-Aging Moisturizing Primer to help it last for hours, a tanning solution, a 4oz bottle of airbrush cleaner, instructional brochure and DVD, all for $179.99. Shu Uemura Volume Maker

Shu-Uemura-Hair-Volume-Maker-Invisible-Texturizing-PowderWomen seem to be quite obsessed with volume – mainly eyelash volume and hair volume. Well they do say, the bigger the hair, the closer to God.  The latest out there for hair volume is SHU UEMURA’s new Volume Maker ($48/2g @ shuuemura.com). It’s an invisible hair texturizing powder that comes in a click tube with an application brush at one end. You just click-click to dispense the powder to where you want volume on the root area and rub it a circle.

The formula uses state of the art texturizing polymers encapsulated in micro-particles to adhere to each strand surface. I have had some experience with a powder sort of like this here. I liked how it performed, however, after posting that feature and continuing to use it here and there, I realized the dry powder itself was kind of like fingernails down a chalkboard for me when I would have to rub into the hair. This formula  seems to remind me a lot of it but thankfully I can use the brush quite a bit to rub it in. And then I make use of a comb to do some backcombing to really work it in. Phew!

I love when I can get me a piece of high couture without the steep fee and in this case, it’s the latest from DOLCE & GABBANA and their new makeup collection, Case for Lace. The collection was inspired by the use of Sicilian Lace in their runway collections and I got my hands on some of the items so let’s check them out.

GOODY Wicks Water Away with QUIKSTYLE

GOODY-QUIKSTYLE-Paddle-BrushHow much do we all love a twist on an existing product? Take GOODY’s QUIKSTYLE Paddle Brush for example. It looks like your average paddle brush but upon closer inspection, you see blue pieces alongside the bristles. These are pieces of microfiber interwoven in with the bristles that act like a towel to absorb water with every stroke, and claim to remove up to 30% of water from the hair. $11.99 to $12.99.

Goody-QUIKSTYLE-Water-Wicking-Comb
The other product they put out alongside this one is the QUIKSTYLE Water Wicking Detangling Comb. This one also wicks away excess water, up to 20% more, but it has two rows of teeth to really help detangle and well, wick! $5.29.

If I had to pick one of these, I’d probably pick the comb as to me, 30% of water removal is not that much but the detangling the brush did took less time and the teeth are nice and big so you won’t be tugging at tangles for too long, which is safer for the life of your strands.

Both available @ target.com.

Dolce & Gabbana Intenseyes Black Intensity Mascara

Dolce-&-Gabbana-Intenseyes-Black-Intensity-MascaraIf you’re looking for super length in your lashes, you might want to check out DOLCE & GABBANA’s Intenseyes Black Intensity Mascara from their new Lace Collection. Co-developed by Makeup Artist Extraordinaire, Pat McGrath, this formula uses ultramarine pigments to really make this one blacker than black; kind of like putting the volume of the stereo up to 11 (yup, Spinal Tap reference). The buildable formula really made my lashes super long, which I like, but it didn’t do much to increase the volume, I noticed.

It keeps it real using a regular mascara wand and nothing fancy looking. Overall, I’d give this a B+. $31 only @ sephora.com.

Review+Swatches - Feeling Summery with Emani

Why is it that a name of product's packaging says something different from what a company has it listed as on their website? This isn’t the first time I have seen this but it makes things mucho confusing when looking for a product and I can’t even imagine how many sales a brand has missed out on because of this. Anyway, yes, the EMANI line seems to have this going on but I am looking past it and just at the products, since that’s what I should do, even though I have to make note of it.

The latest are right in line with summer’s bright and fun colors. Here’s what I tried:

Mineral Hybrid Cream in 1040 Love Addict ($18) – each of these mosaic eye shadows is handmade, so no two are the same and this color can really be worn as a blush and on lips too. LOVE this color!

Emani-Hybrid-Cream-Color-open-caseLuscious Lip Gloss in 1120 Rock Groupie ($16) – in the tube it looks like a bright luminous purple pink but it’s sheerer than I expected. Still rockin’ though!
