Pureology Precious Oil

The PUREOLOGY line is one of my favorite hair care lines out there as their products seem to always break new ground. Take this latest product, the Precious Oil Versitile Caring Oil. It has a lot going for it, so much so that I will list it!

  • First ever Green Seal certified beauty product.
  • 100% biodegradable, silicon and paraben-free oil.
  • Features oils from Sunflower, coconut, olive, and jojoba.
  • Contains their exclusive oil-based OleoAntiFadeComplex made to amp up color-treated strands.

Pureology-Precious-OilAnd I love the versatility of this one as it can be used many different ways, depending on your hair type – a few drops on dry hair before shampooing, as a finishing serum for after blow-drying and my favorite way, a few drops through towel-dried hair before the blow-dry.

And because the whole line is made for those with color-treated hair, you don’t have to worry about color fade or unevenness.

So how does this Green Seal play into this product? They have pretty strict standards so this is a big deal and means that this product and its packaging and ingredients have a minimal environmental impact, imparts the highest health and safety standards, has outstanding quality and performance, among other traits I mentioned above.

So how does this one feel in my hair? Really nice and my thing with the onslaught of these hair oils has come down to the ingredients and most are just silicones. This one? It open with Sunflower Seed Oil and showcases more oils down from their. Yeah! Finally, someone gets it. $28/4.2oz @ pureology.com for salons nationwide.

Dove Clear Tone Deodorant

Dove-Clear-Tone-Deodorant-and-AntiperspirantHow serious are you about your deodorant? Buy whatever’s on sale or do you really keep up with technology and what’s going on it that world? I fall into the latter category and am always looking for the best of the best. The latest I’ve come across is DOVE Clear Tone Clinical Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Solid. This one claims to help visibly reduce dark marks that can appear on the skin from shaving. I do have a mark under my right arm that is more of a birthmark and I have high hopes for this one to work. While it’s been a few weeks since I started using it, I have not seen any visible results on the mark, but I will continue to use this one, as why not? It can’t hurt and only help that spot, right?

So how does it work? Pretty well overall. This is one of those apply nightly ones and the only thing I noticed that I didn’t like was that if I used more than two clicks, it would bead up on the skin, so two clicks max when using this one. $7.99/1.7oz @ target.comamazon.com.

PATYKA Body Wash in White Grape

I had the strangest beauty run-in last weekend – I was at a friend’s pool party opening for the summer recently and I met a girl who is really into shower gels (let’s call her BodyWash Girl). Yes, body washes, shower gels, bain douche, etc. Apparently she keeps about 10 of them going in her shower at a time and picks whichever she’s in the mood for at that time – floral, mint, fruit and even a men’s one, if she feels the need to tap into her masculine side.

Patypka-Body-Wash-in-White-GrapeI have been trying PATYKA’s Body Wash in White Grape, so of course her eyes darted at me when I piped this info into the four-way conversation. She’d never heard of the line before so I told her what I know about it – the products are ECOCERT certified and this specific product derives 99.35% of its ingredients from a natural origin). And having a big mouth sometimes, I even, believe it or not, offered to put some into a travel bottle so she could try it. I know, I know, but if you truly live for beauty, I’m sure you’ve done this too. But now it’s been 8 days and I have not heard from the host yet so maybe BodyWash Girl forgot. $45/8.4oz @ revolve.com.

And doesn’t White Grape just sound so lush and yummy right now?

Review+Swatches - Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush in Poppy Passion

It’s not often that I have to be super careful with a product. What I mean is that there is so much pigment with this ESTEE LAUDER Pure Color Blush in Poppy Passion that is could be quite easy to go overboard!

Agent Provocateur Eau Provocateur - Daytime Anyone?

Agent-Provocateur-Eau-ProvocateurI have found myself wandering into the AGENT PROVOCATEUR lingerie store up on Melrose here in LA a few times but I have not bought any of the sexy underpinnings … yet. My only experience with the brand has been their fragrances and the experience has been good, if not great.

One of my all-time favorites is their Signature Eau de Parfum but I recently took it out of the Hall of Fame, due to its headiness; I love it but it’s just not as versatile as a scent should be if it’s going to be in the Hall of Fame.

Well I think others had the same feeling as they just put out a trio of ‘Eau Provocateur’ fragrances, which they consider more for daytime – 'Eau Provocateur' EDT, L’Agent ‘Eau Provocateur,’ and Maitresse ‘Eau Provocateur.’

The one I tried is the original ‘Eau Provocateur,’ and is considered a lighter version while still maintaining the character of the scent with notes of citrus, fresh new floral Muguet and orange flower on a base of Myrrh, vanilla and tonka bean.

So is it lighter than the original? I’m not sure. It smells so similar *sigh* and of course I happen to be out of the Signature so I can’t do a side-by-side smell test so this test will have to wait and see. Are you a fan of their scents? $70/1.7oz @ ice.com.

Review+Swatches - NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Moscow

NARS just hit us up with their summer color collection and what they call a strawberry red of their Moscow Pure Matte Lipstick ($27 @ sephora.com) I’d call more of a brick orange red. Now I’m quite a fan of these lippies and say they are worth the slightly hefty $25 price tag.

Zoya Summer 2012 Nail Polish - Beach Collection

I’m happy to have self-proclaimed Nail-ista, Morishia, review the latest from ZOYA. They just came out with the Beach Collection and the Ocean Collection. Let’s take a look at Beach and Ocean will post next week. Take it away Morishia!

Ever since the first stroke of a ZOYA Nail Polish to my nails a while back, I've been a big fan. They really had me at "hello." I have the latest Beach collection, and all the colors are amazing. Sun-bleached peach in Arizona reminds me of Bryce Canyon light.
