Review: Diane von Furstenberg Diane EDT

Diane-Von-Furstenberg-Diane-EDT-2I honestly didn’t think I would like DIANE VON FURSTENBERG’s new Diane Eau de Toilette ($65/1.7oz, $90/3.3oz @ as much as I do. It's very feminine and surprisingly has a lot of depth to it but I guess that’s what you should expect when it comes to any Floral Woody Musk, as this one falls into.

This is an eau de toilette and features notes of frangipani, violet, patchouli, myrrh and musk. And even though it is a EDT, it lasts quite a long time on the skin. I would give this one a sniff next time you walk past it in the department store.

Cybelesays Special Report – MAKE UP FOR EVER Los Angeles Flagship Store

It seems like NYC gets all the good beauty perks but in this case, LA was just invited to the table. The brand’s flagship Los Angeles store opens tomorrow 11/11/11 in the chic and tré hip section of Robertson Blvd across the street from Kitson. The 1,300 square foot MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique & Training Facility is for the makeup professional, the beauty enthusiast and the everyday girl. And what’s great about it is that you can access all of their products in the store – from the body glitters and foundations to all of their false lashes and of course every single piece of makeup they manufacture. All 1,400 skus! Sephora only carries about 40% or so of the line.

The store itself, which was 95% complete when I visited yesterday, is creatively designed with pink neon signs, black brick and a huge graffiti wall art piece in the back. All the pizzazz a makeup lover relishes.

Swatch - Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Phenomena

Illamasqua-Liquid-Metal-with-borderI really love metallics and metal colors when it comes to liners, shadows and nail polishes. Here’s the pics of ILLAMASQUA’s Liquid Metal in Phenomena ($26 @ What looks so pigmented in the container like one of those liquid silver markers is actually pretty wearable and a nice highlighter.

Get A Jerseylicious Tease with Spornette and Cricket

I’m a little too fascinated by all things big hair these days; maybe it’s the watching of too much Jerseylicious, Jersey Shore and the Millionaire Matchmaker. Big hair, teased crown, I want it all and I’m living vicariously through these TV shows. In my own hands, I’ve got these two shown here that are helping me get the look but what I really need is, and I’ve stated this on twitter, Tracy DiMarco to come and do my hair.

CRICKET & CO. Amped UP Teasing Brush ($4.39 @ – this one mixes up boars bristles and nylon and are multi-leveled - longer in the middle and shorter around the outside. Great for the novice like me. Availabel in Blue, Pink and Purple.

SPORNETTE Big Wonder Brush Boar and Tourmaline #131 ($7.50 – if you are a pro with the tease, this one is a good step up as it gives you more surface area.

Infinity Sun's Glow on the Go

Infinity-sun-glow-on-the-goBeing that it’s the beginning of November, who’s thinking of tanning? Well living in LA, the legs are still showing as well as the arms, so Must. Have. Color! I feel like INFINITY SUN’s new Glow on the Go is a new level of self-tanner. It is a really fine mist and I tried it twice and felt like I didn’t get much color so I came up with an idea. I put a 1” piece of tape on my upper thigh, which is quite pale right now, and then misted that area and wow, nice realistic color and it lasts quite a few days! It for sure is not like any other self-tanner I have used in that you can’t see where you just applied the tanner, just a nice glow of color. $40/5oz @

Review: Sanitas Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Sanitas-Pumpkin-Enzyme-Mask'Tis the season for holiday scents! Pine, cranberry, nutmeg and my favorite, pumpkin. It’s known for its awesome exfoliating properties so I always pay attention when I come across one. The SANITAS line has a Pumpkin Enzyme Mask ($32/2oz @ and it smells so good!! It contains organic pumpkin and a blend of essential fats and nourishing vitamins, Squalane, and Hyaluronic Acid among others. For some reason I thought it might sting a little on the skin but it didn’t at all. Leave this one on for 10 minutes and remove with lukewarm water. Big recommendation.

Dry Shampoo HubBub from Keratin Complex

Keratin-Complex-Dry-Shampoo-Lift-Powder-for-BrunettesDry Shampoos are so in right now with so many brands adding one to their line. Most are colorless and the only one I ever saw that was colored was from Bumble and Bumble a few years ago and it was horrible. It was pretty innovative at the time and came in colors depending on your hair color. I used the one for brunette and the first time I used it, a bunch of it stained my pillow that night. Ugh, yuck, in the trash it went. It wasn’t until now did I even remember it when I received KERATIN COMPLEX Dry Shampoo Lift Powder ($35/9g @ to try. Overall I find dry shampoos akin to sprinkling some talcum powder on my hair and it doesn’t always blend in. With this one, it comes in three shades, brunette, blondes and a white that is neutral. And this one dispenses through a brush so you can buff it into the roots. Love that! And it has a hint of lemon so this of this one like sending your hair out to the dry cleaners, which still attached to your head.
