Fab Fall Fragrances
These new fragrances here got me thinking - What I wouldn’t give to shadow a “nose” around for a week for a crash course of "A Day in the Life." I’m sure 90% of what they do, I can’t even imagine!
These scents here are kinda day/kinda eve and I’ve been alternating between them for the past few weeks as they are each so different from one another.
ELIE SAAB Le Parfum ($60/1oz, $90/3oz, $120/6.7oz @ ice.com) – no wonder I like this one! It was created by world-renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian and I really think he/they hit it out of the ballpark with this one. I don’t know that last time I ripped a fragrance page out of a magazine but I did with this one! It’s based on a floral, solar, woody theme and boasts notes of orange blossom, jasmine, rose honey, patchouli and cedar. Simply stunning!
Their original is one of my all-time favorites so I’m loving that the brand is coming out with different kinds of versions (can you believe the original came out 85 years ago?). I have to admit that GUERLAIN's Shalimar Parfum Initial ($67/1.4oz, $84/2oz, $119/3.4oz @ nordstrom.com) took a few for me to get used to but it’s growing on me. It’s described as an Amber Floral with notes of orange zest, bergamot, rose, jasmine, iris, and a base of white musk, vanilla and tonka bean.
GIVENCHY Ange ou Demon Le Secret Elixir ($53/1oz, $75/1.7oz @ kohls.com) – this is their next installment of the Ange ou Demon and contains top notes of lemon, green tea and neroli, middle notes of jasmine, orange blossom, frangipani on a base of vanilla, patchouli, white musk and cedar. It’s pretty heady and this one embodies the beginning of this piece in that I think it can be worn during the day or eve. And it has a nice lasting power, which is a huge plus! Doesn’t the flacon remind you of this one?
