The month of January is not only the kick off to a new year but it also brings about one of the biggest beauty shows to come through LA, the International Salon & Spa Expo, or ISSE. It’s all things hair, nails and even some skin. I took to the floor last weekend to do some trend spotting and see what’s coming up from some of the big companies.

Some show highlights – CND rolled out 12 new Shellac shades, the BaBylissPRO line introduced some styling tools infused with Argan Oil (waaah? I call foul!), Hair Flairs (feather hair extensions made with real feathers), and 3Way Hairspray from the Michael O’Rourke Hair line, to name a few.

And of course my favorite Derek J was there representing the Belson line.

Thankfully I didn't see a whole lot that I just had to have. The only things I purchased were ORLY's Smudge Fixer and their Nail Rescue. That's it!

This was probably my 7^th ISSE show and all-in-all I really wasn’t impressed with the turnout as nothing really shook me as being the next big thing. My wallet is kind of thankful. Maybe next year!
