MAC A Tartan Tale Collection

What It Is: We're telling a slightly twisted Tartan Tale to celebrate holiday, in all its posh, punk, ancestral, anarchic, noble and naughty glory. Royal and raunchy, colours and patterns collide, fantasies come true, punk fairies take flight with enchanted new looks. Be transformed!

My Take: The Tartan print is so versatile and like the above states, you can rock it posh, punk or even a little naughty. Overall, this collection is pretty middle of the road, which surprised me as I thought the colors would be more edgy and that they would have added some colored liquid liners. I like that they put texture in the eye shadows but was really thinking they should have put out one big compact made up of  the Tartan print and had an eye shadow, blush, and lippie inside. Maybe they tried that? Anyway, there are some good basics in this collection. All @ nordstrom.com

My picks:
Eye Shadow in Semi-Precious (aubergine w/chocolate tartan striping) and Gold Crown (light gold w/bronze tartan striping), Pigment in The Family Crest (blackened bronze w/bronze pearl), Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Undercurrent (teal w/pearl), Nail Lacquer in Style Clan (dark taupe w/red pearl), Lipstick in The Faerie Glen (pale neutral pink, luster), Dazzleglass Crème in Soft Dazzle (midtone peach pink w/gold pearl).

Be sure to check out more picks from this huge collection in the coming weeks!

I especially agree with you on its overall versatility, however I have to disagree in that I found it quite edgy and not as "middle-of-the-road" as you put it. Still, I loved your review.
