What's Your Opinion On False Eyelashes?
I got into a huge conversation about false eyelashes over the weekend. We talked about brands, which kind work best (individual vs. strip), colored and price. I’d say the trait that derived the most talk was price. We’ve all seen ones that are priced at a few dollars all the way up to about $25 and even more if you go for those mink ones. Out of the 6 of us, only 2 would pay upwards of $10 for a pair. Driving home, I couldn’t understand why you would not want to invest in a nice pair of lashes as I usually get 3 or 4 wears out of a strip, easy. But I guess how many times you wear them and the fact that a few of the girls at the table did not consider this; they thought they were one time wear. Here’s the way I’m able to get so many wears – I make sure my whole eye look including mascara, is done before applying a strip. That way when I remove them at the end of the day, I don’t have to put in a lot of elbow grease when cleaning each in some makeup remover. Sometimes I use a little mascara and the lash curler to infuse the strip to my lashes but not often.
So which brand did I tout at this get together? ROBERT REESE BEAUTY (formerly Xtended Beauty) Eyelashes & Adhesive. I can’t quite figure out the reason these are so easy to apply but I think the curve of each was just made for my eyes only! Hardly any adjusting needed and only $9 pair @ reeserobertbeauty.com.

I love false lashes, but I tend to prefer demi lashes. I've tried red cherry and revlon and i think nyx.

I used to wear them daily in the early 80's. Then, when you have a kid, false eyelashes go way down your list of priorities. Also, embracing the way you actually look helps you pare down what you do to yourself.
There are 2 pairs of lashes tucked in away in my drawer; I would only wear them for a really swank occasion, or dress-up for Halloween. How flexible the band is makes a great difference in ease of application and comfort of wear.
I was at CVS last night, and the HBA clerks were stocking the shelves with lashes. These are the very cheapest ones that still go on sale every once in a while. One pointed out the ones she used to wear, the other said she still wears #47,
There are women here in Hawaii who still wear tape on their eyelids to "double" them and decrease the appearance of the epicanthic fold: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epicanthic_fold But that is a story for another time.
Aloha!

Hi Phyrra - I've never tried Cherry Red. Will have to seek those out!!
Hi Soos - I'm glad to hear you are thinking about lashes lately! I can only imagine how full your hands are with your child but I'm sure you could put them on rather quickly. And interesting info about the women of Hawaii. Wow!

I always used false eyelashes, especially attending a party.
