Two from Clinique For Aging Skin

Clinique-Dark-Spot-Corrector-and-Youth-Surge-Night-Moisturizer Since I discovered a few dark spots to the right of my right eye recently that were not there a few months ago, or at least I don’t think they were, I’ve been all hot on this new product CLINIQUE put out. The main offending spot is about the size of a pencil eraser, so I dove head first into their new Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector ($49.50/1oz) when their PR people sent it to me to try out. There’s a huge push on this product right now as they claim prescription strength and that you can see a difference on the skin in as little as four weeks. It contains their patent-pending CL-302 plant-derived complex that claims to help prevent the appearance of new dark spots and visibly break up existing clusters of pigment as well as  improve the overall radiance and clarity. So how did it work for me? I have used it for about 5 weeks now and while I do see a boost in the overall radiance and slight difference around the main brown spot, it didn’t get rid of the brown spot altogether, which is what I was hoping for. So I’ll keep on using it until the product runs out and hopefully it will do some more damage to the main brown spot.

The other new product I’ve been using is their new Youth Surge Night Age Decelerating Night Moisturizer for dry combination ($48.50/1.7oz) and what a great nighttime moisturizer this one is. Based on Sirtuin Techology, this super thick balm that absorbs pretty quickly. And while it does seem a tad on the expensive side, even for Clinique, a little dab goes a long way. Both @ saks.com.

Spring Color Pick 2010 ~ Coral ~

It’s not orange and it’s quite a ways away from red and it’s one of the colors of the season. What is it? Coral! I’ve done a couple of product picks in the Coral department and I think that out of all the colors on Pantone’s Spring list, Coral seems to be the one that gets the most reaction. Here are some more product picks in the on-going Spring Color Picks 2010 feature from the best that are reppin’ the shade right now!

Laura Geller Helps Your Body Glow

Laura-Geller-Baked-Body-Frosting I was flipping through the channels the other day and came upon LAURA GELLER on the QVC channel showcasing her latest products and she was talking about some from her Baked Collection. Since I rarely get demos right in front of me, I put the remote down and watched. One that I had on deck to try was her Baked Body Frosting All Over Body Glow in Sugar Glow ($39.75 @ nordstrom.com), so I moved it up in the rotation and dove in this past weekend feeling inspired. And this one is so right now! If you’re showing skin in an outfit, don’t you want to add a little sumthin’-sumthin’ to spice your flesh up? Give arms, legs, décolleté, and spots on the face a luminous glow with this white tea and Ceraphyl Oil infused, sans paraben, powder. And this one is a tad bigger in size than these. It’s a full 4” around, so you are getting a great value for your money on this product.

Cleanlogic Puts Out a Multi-tasker

Cleanlogic-Soap-+-Sponge We introduced you to the CLEANLOGIC line with this one and this next one I tried from the line has me so giddy to share with you! It’s their Soap + Sponge ($3.99/4.2oz @ walgreens.com) and it’s exactly what the name says – soap in a sponge. This seems like such an obvious one, right? We are fans of conquering a few things at one time and in this case, it’s washing and exfoliating and the price on this  is right on! Available in three scents: Peach Berry (my favorite), Cucumber Melon and Lavender.

At this point I’ve used the Peach Berry one a few times and now it looks like a rectangle piece of watermelon without the seeds. Yum!

Hallo from Bloom Cosmetics!

Bloom-Cosmetics-Lip-Tint-and-Lipstick Guess whose back?? BLOOM COSMETICS! Well, I don’t think they really went anywhere but I just lost touch with the line but I was recently sent some of the latest and they’re still putting out wicked cute! The Cutie Pie Lip Gloss was one of my favorites, pretty much back when I started this website in 2001 and I see they have it in a Lipstick ($20) form. Fab!! It’s like a purple-y mauve and oh so universally flattering!

Lips need a boost in the health department? How about their Lip Tint ($16)? It contains SPF and vitamin E and avocado oil to help get lips back in shape. Such a cute line. Both and more @ bloomcosmetics.com.

Spring Color Picks 2010

Pantone-Fashion-Color-Report-Spring-2010 If you follow any aspect of fashion, you’ve heard that the Pantone Color of the Year for 2010 is Turquoise. Just hearing that news recently made me want to redo my living room or at least add some turquoise accents. Did I? No but I it did make me think of beauty products and how I could reflect the trend in my everyday makeup look with a splash of liquid on my nails or powder on my lids. “Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.”

Other colors of the Spring Season? Tomato Purée, Fusion Coral, Violet and Tuscany, to name a few. So what does that mean to you? I’ll be highlighting some products that showcase the colors in an on-going feature called Spring Color Picks. First up? Turquoise and Tomato Purée. I’m pairing the soothing blue-green and the tangy classic red in one feature as I think they balance each other out nicely.

So you wanna see the product picks?

Are You Taking Care of Your Eyes?

Apot.Care-Alchimie-Forever

The area around them is much thinner and more delicate than the rest of the face. And now-a-days, a good eye cream or treatment must take care of everything having to do with the eye area – wrinkles, bags and circles. These next two are the latest to take care of it all and then some.

ALCHIMIE FOREVER Rejuvenating Eye Balm ($69/.5oz @ dermstore.com) – the antioxidants inside this one comes from grape seeds and blueberries and they add vitamin K to work on dark circles and jojoba oil for moisture.

APOT.CARE Irido-Radiant Eye Contour Care ($125/.5oz @ apot.care.com) – contains a Hyaluronic acid to moisturize and firm and NAC-A, Shea Butter and chamomile to really soothe the area.
