Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb

Viktor-&-Rolf-Flowerbomb-Purse-Spray One of my favorite scents to come out in 2009 has to be VIKTOR & ROLF’s Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum. I bought  a bottle after smelling a swatch of it in a magazine and then forgot I had it until earlier this month. Has that ever happened to you? Anyway, I know that a scent can smell different in a magazine then in the bottle but this one translated really well and wow, is all I can say about this one. It has top notes of tea and bergamot, middle notes of Sambac jasmine, orchid, freesia, rose and base notes of patchouli. I really recommend you make a note (no pun intended) of this one to at least give it a whiff next time you are in a department store. It’s simply stunning! Floral but adult floral.

And give a scent release a little bit and the accoutrements that come out are usually really good like this one comes in the Flowerbomb Purse Spray ($110 only @, which comes with 3 refills. Big recommendation.

On the Cuff - Now Why Didn't I Think of This??

Are you ready for a genius product? On The Cuff is a set of sponge bracelets that keep water from running down your arms while washing your face.

Now here’s one that I’m filing under a new total necessity. ON THE CUFF is a pair of sponge bracelets that stop water from dripping down your arm when you’re washing your face. Genius! It’s a long time problem and there has never been a solution until now. And they are not just limited to washing your face. How about wearing them when you wash the car or the dishes? Big recommendation! $7.99/pair and you can even get a Drying Stand for $5.99 @

A New Breed of Skin Care – Mineral Cosmetology w/Omorovicza

The winter brings with it a bunch of changes in the body and for me, the skin on my face seems to really be affected every year, like it’s caught a cold or has the flu. So even though for the most part I can put just about anything on my skin, during this time of the year, I have to be somewhat mindful. A new line to me and the site is called OMOROVICZA [o-more-o-vee-tsa]. The line was created when an American and Swiss Omorovicza-Thermal-Cleansing-Balm discovered the skin benefits of Budapest’s famous mineral thermal baths. Each product in the line contains their Pannon Complex, which is a blend of proteins and vitamins found only in these thermal waters. I tried the Thermal Cleansing Balm ($102/1.7oz @ and the cold my skin seems to catch each year is all but gone! It’s hard to describe but it just feels decongested.

Now don’t be weirded out by the color or the feeling of the non-foaming balm. It’s a dark grey/black and is pretty thick so a little goes a long way. And the end result is pretty moisturizing on the skin so you probably won’t need to add extra moisturizer afterward. It’s kind of like how my skin feels after using cold cream. I can pretty much guarantee you haven’t tried anything like this one before.

Get Your Cucumber On

Don’t you love the smell of cucumbers? Not only do they smell great in beauty products but because of their high water content, the ingredient is great for rehydrating the skin. For the face, it can perk up the complexion and as we all know, sooth puffy eyes. So if you like the ingredient for its medicinal purposes or you just like the smell, here are three to help you get your cucumber on.

  • JOHNSON’S Baby Powder in Cooling Cucumber Melon ($4.29/15oz @
  • BATH AND BODY WORKS Wallflowers Home Fragrance in Cucumber ($12/2 bulbs @
  • SKINLITE Make-up Cleansing Tissues Cucumber Extract Sheets ($3.95/30 sheets @

Give the Gift of … a Whole New Looking Face

You’ve read it a billion times – eyebrows frame the face. I have a few people in my life that I’ve shared this words of wisdom with and they still don’t get it. Or they get them waxed one time and then never again (my sister). So what can you do? How about give them a kit like CHRISTI HARRIS’ Precision Brow Planning System? It’s has everything for the upkeep of the brows whether they are waxed, plucked or just flying free. The kit walks you through what she calls the three D’s of brow shaping: Design, Define and Diffuse. Inside the cool box is a Color Blend Trio of brow powder, Adda Brow (fills in sparse areas), Diffusing Powder Duo, 3 makeup brushes and a Planer to remove stray hairs instead of tweezing. That sounds good already. $59.99 @

Gift the Gift to the Person Who Has Everything

Zapi-Toothbrush-Sanitizer Have a germaphobe in your life? I think we all do at this point. I never even thought of something like this but someone did and soon you’ll be seeing them in lots of households. It’s a Toothbrush Sanitizer from ZAPI. Just stick your toothbrush in the top of the weeble-wobble looking base and the next time you go to use it, 99.9% of the germs like E. coli, staphylococcus and strep are wiped out. It uses UV technology and has a blinking light that tells you when it’s working. Don’t think that this replaces the need for you to change your toothbrush every three months or so. Choose from 6 colors (gotta match the bathroom, right?) for $29.99 @
