Cybelesays Special Report

I’ve had such a time with my nails my whole life. I have tried this and this and even this. Nothing seems to strengthen or allow them to grow, so I was super curious when I heard about DASHING DIVA salon’s new Gelife Soak-Off Nails. From what I read, this was a must try!

Need To Smooth It? Philip B To the Rescue.

Philip-B-Anti-Frizz-Formula-57 The PHILIP B line has always been on the cutting edge of cool with products that give something extra and unique. From their White Truffle Ultra-Rich Shampoo to the Chai Latte Soul & Body Wash, they never put out a boring product! This Anti-Frizz Formula 57 ($35/2oz @ nordstrom.com) may not have the fancy name but it has pretty much become my go-to defrizzer right now. It contains vitamin E, jojoba, and soybeach oils and not only does this defrizz but it also protects hair from heat products so this is also a 2-in-1.
When I first used this, I applied it after I was done drying my hair to calm my strands down but you can actually use it on towel dry hair too. Try it both ways to see what works best for you!

Laura Geller and Tarte Have Two Winning Foundations

Laura-Geller-tinted-moisturizer-tarte-ReCreate-Anti-Aging-Foundation Trying to cut corners? Save pennies? Who isn’t? Shopping definitely is not like it used to be so why don’t you try combining two of your makeup products in one. Very popular these days are the combo moisturizer and foundation with the tinted moisturizer. LAURA GELLER just came out with Barely There Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20 ($30/1.25oz @ macys.com) and it contains those light-diffusing mineral pigments that lessen the appearance of lines and wrinkles. If you are in a hurry like I seem to be every morning, this will save you a smidgen of time. And even though this one has a SPF 20, I would still use an additional SPF on your face. Available in Fair, Light, Medium or Deep.

If a tint ain’t your thang, TARTE just put out ReCreate Anti-Aging Foundation With Wrinkle Rewind Technology SPF 15 ($37/1oz @ amazon.com) and it has a lot of things I look for in a good foundation as in free of a lot of the bad things found in some foundations like sulfates, parabens, and petro-chemicals. If I can avoid these in any product, I want to. And this one has something new in the formula called Wrinkle Rewind technology, which is a complex works on, you guessed it, wrinkles and also the skin’s tone and firmness. Like the above, this one too contains a SPF but again, I would add wear an additional SPF on your face. This one comes in 12 shades.

Lavilin Keeps Sweaty Feet Away

Lately, I’ve been feeling like the only one that suffers from foot sweat and stink. I know, how lady-like is this topic? With some shoes, you just can’t wear socks or tiny peds or, god forbid, nylons. Bare is the only way to go with most of my summer shoes and have I got your solution to feet that tend to moisten up in shoes - LAVILIN Foot Deodorant Cream. One application keeps your feet virtually sweat-free for one week and this Lavilin-Hypo-Allergenic-Foot-Deodorant one doesn’t have any strange chemicals or aluminum to keep them that way. All you do is swipe some of the white cream on the ball of your foot from the middle to where the toes start, wait for about 5 minutes for it to absorb and you are ready to go. They recommend you apply it at night so it has time to work its magic. And the reason I say that it kept my feet virtually sweat-free is that my feet felt warm in my shoes but I don’t think they were sweating or it they did, it was very minimal. Great product.

And what a great deal the site has - $1 for a trial size and good for at least 2 or 3 applications or $16 for 2oz, which should last you months.

They also have one for underarms but I have not tried it out yet. I’ll get back to you! Or you can read up on both products @ smallflower.com.

Osmotics Always Has the Answers

Osmotics-Renovage I always pay attention when the OSMOTiCS line comes out with a new product. They are on the cutting edge of skin care for sure and know what we women are looking for. The latest addition is Renovage – Cellular Longevity Serum ($150/1.7oz @ nordstrom.com) and this one doesn’t kid around. I’ve been using this for a little over 7 weeks at night and it seems to have lightened a few key age spots I had on my right cheek. And I had someone ask me the other day if I was pregnant because they said my skin was just radiating! Could it all be due to this one product? Seems to be. What this one does is help extend the lifespan of the cells so they can continue to protect and repair – the more cells on the skin, the more they can do their job. It also contains a patented Tripeptide/Protein and Ergothioneine, which is a super antioxidant.

Sweatblock Speaks To the Pits

Seems like quite a few products are focusing on the armpits these days. From this one we wrote about a few months ago to Dove’s new Ultimate Visibly Smooth Anti-Perspirant Deodorant that claims to keep you stubble free longer to this one. And this is the first one I’ve ever seen of its kind and I’m sure they’ll be many more on the way. Ladies and gents, I give you SWEATBLOCK and here’s the skinny in two words, it works!

Sweatblock What it does: Eliminates underarm perspiration for 7 days.

Cost: $19.99/2 month supply, $35.98/4 month supply, $50.97/6 month supply.All @ amazon.com.

What you do: Each packet has two presoaked pads, so before bed, dab, dab, dab one pad under the armpit (don’t rub). Allow each underarm to dry for 5 minutes.

How it works: While you are catching your nightly zzz’s, the chemicals in it block your sweat glands (the active ingredient is the 13% aluminum chloride hexahydrate). It’s that simple. And no, it doesn’t rub off or leave a film. You may even forget you applied it and put on deodorant one morning like I did!

The test: I found a really great cardio kickbox class recently and it’s really been giving me quite the workout twice a week. And what better place to try this one out! Throughout the hour class, every other place on my body was sweating except under my arms.

When I told a few people about this product, they all said the same thing. Isn’t blocking your sweat glands from under the arm pits unhealthy? I did some research on this and from what I can gather, no it’s not bad for you. First off, your armpits only house 1% of your sweat glands and really all this product does is what an anti-p/deo does. So if you are not overweight and are in good health, it’s not bad. And Botox injections for that area is also becoming quite popular but if you are still wary, check with your doctor.
