Chanel Keeps Eyes Smokey for Fall

Chanel-Eye-Shadow CHANEL Fall 2008 Collection seems to be all about making a statement. A statement with your eyes and oh, do they twinkle when I wear their Soft Touch Eyeshadows in Black Star (shown here) and Platine. My computer going to computer heaven late last month really threw me off on getting to the fall collections early but better late than never right? The Black Star can be the base of a really sexy smokey eye and the Platine can be used over it or under the brow or in the corner of the eye for an accent. Yes, it’s love. Pick it up @ chanel.com

Have Your Cake But Don't Eat It With Jaqua

Jaqua I am really liking JAQUA BEAUTY’s new Raspberry Buttercream Frosting Hand Crème ($8/2oz) for when I get a sugar craving. Crazy? Yes, but it seems to stave it off for at least ½ an hour. And I like that the scent is not too strong but they should have just called is Raspberry as I didn’t really smell any buttercream frosting with it. And it’s made with meadowfoam seed oil, real fruit extracts and vitamins A and E so it keeps skin nourished.

The scent also comes in a Shower Creme ($18/8oz), Lip Whip ($14), Lip Gloss Ring ($8), which is wicked cute and a Sinfully Rich Body Butter ($22/6oz). All @ jaquabathandbody.com.

Need A Scent Pick-Me-Up? Bella Lucce To the Rescue!

Bella-Lucce-Arabian-Odyssey I’ll admit it. I get burnt out every so often, as in, nothing is exciting me and then BAM, along comes something that wakes me up. And that’s exactly what happened with BELLA LUCCE’s new Arabian Odyssey Collection. The Founder of the line has actually traveled to different parts of Arabia six times in the past two years and we’re glad she did as all eight products in the collection have been hanging stateside since I got a few weeks ago. I just can’t get enough! Using ingredients only found in that area like, Turkish coffee, Dead Sea mud, red sandalwood, Moroccan lava clay and date sugar, to name a few, each product is made in small batches to ensure freshness. And like the rest of the line, each is free of parabens, silicones, dyes, formaldehyde donors and phthalates and sulfats.

Our picks:

  • Exotic Date & Wild Honey Buff ($28/10oz)

  • Moroccan Lava Cleansing Bar ($9/4.5oz)

  • Spiced Pomegranate & Yogurt Detox ($30/4.8oz)

So thanks for getting me out of my beauty funk, Bella Lucce! All @ bellalucce.com

Benefit Cosmetics Is You ... Just Better

Benefit-Cosmetics-Full-Finish-Lipstick There’s certain items we are always on the hunt for. For me, it’s a good basic black t-shrit, the perfect pair of jeans and the ideal nude lipstick. I’ve found good ones here and there but this one seems to be filling the void for right now. BENEFIT COSMETICS Full-Finish Lipstick in Lady’s Choice ($18 @ macys.com) gives lips a YLLB finish. Need a little more? The vibrant red of Flirt Alert should do the trick.

Have You Declared Your Signature Scent?

Tova Read this and then go and stand in front of where you keep all your fragrances. Look at them closely and think about each one and ask yourself, “Does this fragrance stand the test of time?” For me, TOVA Signature Eau de Parfum Spray ($43.80/3.3oz @ beautybytova.com/) is one that does. It’s a blend of bergamot citrus, jasmine, lavender on a base of sandalwood and musk. It really is a great choice for a signature fragrance.

Now I have been wearing this one for the past 10 years or so and they just re-packaged the scent last year and the reviews on qvc, where it is sold exclusively, have not been that favorable. See, the fragrance is made with 28.5% essential oils so this one lasts on the skin but I guess the new blend does not last and it’s just not the same. I wonder what changed? Maybe it needs to be layered with something like her Signture Smoothing Body Balm ($24.98/4.2oz), which is how I have been wearing it. Or with the signature lotion or body wash. Care to share with us what your signature fragrance is? Let me know in the comments!

New from Apothia Cleans You Right UP

Apothia-Hand-&-Body-Wash There are quite a few reasons I am feeling APOTHIA's new Hand & Body Wash ($28/10oz @ apothia.com).

  • They are sulfate and paraben free
  • Life-friendly ingredients like apricot kernal oil, vitamin E and coconut oil
  • Super sleek packaging with a no-slip gripper around the middle
  • This Scene scent (fig, juniper berry, and pear nectar) is so enjoyable. I'm putting a vote in for making this one into a fragrance!

Waxing Lippie with Giorgio Armani

Tired of the same ol’ tube of color? Try GIORGIO ARMANI’s new Lip Wax Compact Lipstick ($28 @ giorgioarmanibeauty.com). They call it lipstick without the excess and how right they are though I would say this is more of a lip stain … or is that what they mean? Oy, I think I’m reading too much into this but my lips really feel likeGiorgio-Armani-Lip-Wax I have nothing on, which is perfect since I feel like some lipsticks suffocate my lips. It’s their Mirco-fil ingredient that gives this weightless result and I feel like they invented this just for me. Lovin’ shades #4 Raspberry and #6 Deep Chianti. I wish this had its own application brush though as color on the finger is just not attractive.
