You Better Work!

WhitesandshairsprayRuPaul should be the spokesperson for the new Stuck-Up ($24-$26/10oz @ amazon.com) from WHITE SANDS. This mega-hold hairspray really … holds but it’s another one of those that you should consider reaching for when styling. Like their other revolutionary hairsprays, it can be used on wet or dry hair and combed out with no leftover residue or stiffness. And what about using it with hot tools like a curling iron or straight iron? It not only helps you make the most perfect curl but it makes the strands really shiny. Fun!

I’ve been trying different styles out with this spray – from really straight to more natural looking loose waves, and this really helps you achieve the many different looks I go for on a weekly basis. Big recommendation.

Don’t Wanna Be Greasy Bear

Yeah, I read the gossip blogs and you know you chuckled if you know who I’m talking about. But seriously, who wants to be Joe Slick this summer? Stop the shine with these four anti-shiners to take and keep your greasy off.

Get Brow-Tastic With Anastasia

Here are three to snap your brows into shape. We don’t care which ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS one you use to do it, just make sure you get at least one of these down. As you’ve heard a million times by now, brows are soooo important when it comes to your overall look. All @ net-a-porter.com

  1. Brow Filler ($20) – duo-sided and sponge-tipped for filling in. The powder is slightly damp so it adheres to the skin/hair.
  2. Go Brow – Universal Brow Pencil ($21) – this medium neutral brown color really seems universal! I always go to dark with my pencil or powder.
  3. ‘Brow Wiz’ Mechanical Brow Pencil ($18) – has to be the slimmest, skinniest, on a diet brow pencil and it makes really thin lines so your work looks more natural.

Powder Pick-Me-Up With Youngblood Cosmetics

I heard about a great way to get the most out your bronzer – sculpt a number three on each side of your face. Ok, here’s what I mean: swirl some bronzer on a medium sized face brush, like the Highlighting Brush from SONIA KASHUK ($12.99 @ target.com). The bristles are spread further apart towards the tip so you’ll get a light application and can build it up. Depending on how much control you like to have the SHU UEMURA 7.5EXG ($35 @ shuuemura.com) goat-haired brush is also a good one. The fan-ness of this one really grazes features for a soft look and the handle maneuvers nicely. Next, start just above your temple/brow in front of the hair line and make a number three on the right side and a backwards three on your left side. Using this method seems to hit just the right places, including the cheeks, for a fresh look. One bronzer great for this technique is YOUNGBLOOD’s Mineral Radiance ($39 @ ybskin.com). Choose from three different color compacts. I like Splendor and Sundance with the four colors that allow you to really sculpt the area for a naturally healthy finish.

Quick Pick – Bronzing with Lorac

LoracLORAC TANtalizer Baked Bronzer ($28 @ ulta.com) is a two compartment deelio perfect for tucking in the purse. The top is the bronzer and in the basement, so to speak, is the application brush. And the mirror? So handy on the bottom of the compact! This is one of those baked powders as the name states, so the many specs of color are highly pigmented.
Use the big brush in the bottom drawer to brusha-brusha some color anywhere and everywhere.
