You Read It Here First…

The WHOLE TRUTH HOLISTIC HEALTH SOLUTIONS was created by a certified Holistic Nutritionist two years ago and I can tell you right now that after trying a few of their soaps I want to try other items in the line! Their Bath Bars are made with plant-based ingredients and uses 100% recycled materials (the paper it is wrapped in). And some of the names are really fun like Along the Shore, Cigarettes & Coffee and Yellow Brick Road. And just check out the ingredients of one like the Hello Vera! Essential Oil Bath Bar: extra virgin olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, neem oil, French green clay, aloe, horse tail powder and tea tree essential oil. That’s it! And that’s just one of the nineteen scents they manufacture.

Whole-Truth-Beauty
They seem to be rolling out new categories in the line like Body Butters and Scrubs so I’ll let you know when I am able to try some of the others. I love it when I experience a line like this! $7/5oz @ wholetruthsolutions.com.

You Read it Here First…

Clientele-Elastology-Thermal-Pumpkin-Facial-Scrub I know the date is only September 4 but for some reason I got really excited for fall the other day. I think it had something to do with QVC hocking Halloween candles because just last week I was so basking in the sweet smells and temps of summer. Ahh, to be female!

So why all this talk about fall? I recently tried CLIENTELE’s Elastology Thermal Pumpkin Facial Scrub and it understandably makes me think of cooler temps and seasonal scents! This is one of those heat-up masks that will warm as you rub your hands together under water. It’s made with natural pumpkin enzymes, a fruit extract called Lactobacillus to help with the exfoliation and it also contains apple and honey extracts and vitamin C. And it even has lycopene, which helps support the skin from the inside in the fight against aging. Will you be welcoming the new season with this one? $35/4oz @ clientelebeauty.com.

This product contains two preservatives, Propylparaben and Diazolindyl Urea, which are seen by some as ingredients of concern. Read more here and here.

Read my ingredient disclaimer here.

Karuna - You Read It Here First…

Karuna-Hydrating-Mask

We are pleased to be able to introduce new brand to you! KARUNA is a line of face masks based on the wisdom of East-meets-West and uses ingredients found in Asia. Choose from six different masks – Anti-Aging, Anti-Blemish, Brightening, Anti-Oxidant, Exfoliating and Hydrating. Whenever I am using a cream or gel mask, I never really know if I am using the right amount but these come in a fold out cloth (with the nose, eyes and mouth cut out) that you simply lay on the skin and let it do its magic. Remember the one from Shiseido I feature a little while ago? Same kind of cloth here and since each has the ingredients already on it, so you know you are using the right amount. And these clothes are all-natural fiber cloths that are made from bio-degradable wood pulp.

I tried two different masks and I have to say hands down, the Hydrating Treatment Mask ($28/4 masks only @ beautyintuition.com) worked the best for me. This one uses a Japanese soybean called Natto to super hydrate the skin as well as other plant extracts, like Aloe Leaf Juice, peptides and anti-oxidants.

One thing I noticed in trying both masks were that each was sopping wet, as in, they didn’t skimp on ingredients! With everyone cutting corners and tightening belts, this is a big plus.

And since you have to leave the cloth on the skin for 10 to 20 minutes, it kind of forces you to just sit and relax. And after you are done, no need to rinse the excess off of your face, just rub it in and what I like doing with the cloth afterward is to lay it out on my upper chest. That area just doesn’t get enough attention and can always use some extra hydration.

SexyhandsI am really liking this SEXY BATH AND BODY Sexy Hands – Shea Butter Moisturizing Hand Crème  ($5/1.7oz) coming out with for the holiday season. And since it’s now September, it's officially ok to put my nose into holiday fragrances. The lush crème smells like Lavender, chamomile and pomegranate. Mmmmm! And it contains the Shea butter, vitamin E, Pomegranate and aloe, which not only helps nourish the skin but also helps the cuticles.

Have you heard about their Citrus Basil Body Wash ($11.95/6.8oz) and Body Moisturizer ($13.95/6.8oz)? Citrus and Basil?? Sounds like a strange combo of two smells but it works. And if you pick both of those up, they’ll give you the hand crème for free. Line it up! All @ sexyhair.com for locations.

You Read It Here First ...

Anastasia

We have a new one to introduce from ANASTASiA and we’re tickled pink to bring it to you first. Brow Pen ($21 @ sephora.com in mid-August) is a brow tint in the form of a super thin marker. The formula clings to both skin and hair and looks oh-so-natural. I always seem to use a pencil or powder that is too dark for me but this color, which is called Universal, is not too dark and not too light and totally buildable. So if you need a darker shade, you can do it with this one. Great product.

You Read It Here First!

As soon as I get home in the evening and know I’m in for the night, I immediately put back the hair and put on the PJs. Using a headband and then pulling the rest into a ponytail is not the most comfortable but it does get the hair off my face. Now I am happy to say I’ve found something better and we’re happy to make their Internet introduction. The TASSI ($14.99 @ tassicompany.com) headwrap will become the only way to comfortably get your hair off your face and neck.

There’s only a two beauty conventions I go to every year looking for the latest debuting on the beauty scene and this was one of the most useful ones I came across. Put the stretch terry cloth band over your head, pull hair through, push it up into the front like a headband and then pull the back up to catch the back of your hair. It’s the most comfortable thing to wear on your head! Use it for everything: getting a facial, putting on makeup, while tanning, showering. Basically anywhere you need to get your hair outta the way. Available in 8 fun colors! Big recommendation.

When I received two of the new SUKICOLOR Fresh Finish Mineral Cream Makeup products in the mail from Ms. Suki, I ran home to try them. We heard about it a couple of weeks ago and were beyond excited to try them. Like her highlySukifoundation popular skin care line, this mineral cosmetics line was created after seeing a need in the beauty industry, products created with truly natural ingredients. The 20Sukicreme products are all creams (she hates powders) including a tinted moisturizer, a concealer, a mascara, an eye definer and a Lip/Cheek Stain. And just like her skin care products, they're suitable for all skin tones. The Tinted Active Moisturizer Smooth/Balance ($42/1.2oz) is made with natural pigments to even your skin out and minimize pores. Available in Natural and Bronze. The Pure Cream Stain ($36.50/.5oz) is 100% natural crushed mineral pigment to give a natural flush of color to lips and cheeks. Seven shades available.
I’m sure we’ll be featuring more from this line as soon as we can get our greedy hands on the other items. All @ sukicolor.com

New In Stores ...

Cream, lotions, butters … I can’t seem to get enough of them. Added to our radar from V’TAE is their new collection of natural body care products and we’re pleased to be the first to bring them to you. The Body Cremes ($16/6.5oz) are each made with 15% Shea butter, 70% certified organic ingredients and are Paraben free (widely used chemical preservative). Each Bar Soap ($11/7oz) is made with Olive oil, Shea butter and essential oils. The “flavors?” Only their best selling scents: Almond Apricot, Lavender, Cherry, Coconut Tangerine and Lemon. I’m quite partial to the Cherry as it smells so good! Big recommendation. Both @ vtae.com today.

You Read It Here First...

Uds That’s it. I’m making a bold stand this season. I’m saying yes to liquid liner! Sure sheer washes of shadow are nice and delicate but nighttime looks beg you to kick it up and what better way than with the six new Liquid Liner shades from URBAN DECAY. The best quality of these liners, besides the unique shades, is the long bristles in the liner. They hug the natural curve of the lid beautifully so there won’t be many mess-ups on this end. Choose from Lucky, Oil Slick, Perversion, Revolver or my picks shown here, Acid Rain and Honey. $18 @ urbandecay.com in August.
