A Dash O' Glitter

ViCTORiA’S SECRET just put out the Heidi Collection and each product is all about glamour. There are four products in all and they are limited edition so get ‘em while their hot. Here are our picks:

Perfect Lipstick in Heidi ($12) is a nude with tons of finely miller glitter. Never have I seen so much in or on a lipstick and it still looks really good on lips and not clowny. The lipstick itself looked so beautiful in the case, I almost didn’t want to try it.
The Glitter Liquid Liner in Bang ($10) is bronzy glitter in a clear liquid so wear it by itself on lids or layer it over another liner for a little more umph! All @ victoriassecret.com

Red, Red Lips

Why does the red lipstick give us so much pleasure? Was it the forbidden lipstick to play with in your mother’s handbag? Was it the shade you only saw on a model in a magazine? Did your favorite Aunt always wear the same shade of red lipstick as her signature? Did a beautiful gold case signify mystery and allure? All these things and more make up our love for red lipsticks and I’m very excited that this fall it’s all about RED LIPS. We will be featuring many of our favorites in the Red, Red Lips feature in the next three months. Just note that some colors in the tubes can be deceiving and appear a different color than on lips. 3. ViNCENT LONGO brings the rich drama of the glamour era to your lips with the dark red/dark pink semi-matte Velvet Riche Lipstick in Ignition. Lots of pigment and beauty! $23 @ beauty.com

4. BENEFiT COSMETiCS sticks it to you with their Silky Finish Lipstick in Frenched. The texture is between a gloss and lipstick and is one of those you can build more color the more swipes you apply. This cherry red gives off a lot of shine. $16 @ benefitcosmetics.com

5. Fair skinned beauties … yes you can wear red lipstick! CLiNiQUE Long Last Soft Shine Lipstick in Red, Red, Red is definitely one to try. It’s lasts a long time and feels lightweight. $14 @ clinique.com

6. Slow Burn is the name of this gorgeous true blue red aptly named Perfect Lipstick! In its sleek black lacquered case from the from the Very Sexy Line at ViCTORiA’S SECRET, you will love to swivel up this classic crème formula. $12 @ victoriassecret.com

7. Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour from L’OREAL is hip and chic in its two step, two sided silver plastic case. Long lasting color on one side, a soothing balm on the other.  It does stay on and on and even has a built-in mirror. Try the color Crimson (deep red with a touch of wine) and smile pretty. $6.99 @ ulta.com

8. The SEPHORA brand calls their Cream Lipstick No. 94 a Classic Red. It’s a creamy light (semi-sheer) true blue/red in a soft cream formula. Perfect for you “beginner” red lipstick wearers. $10 @ sephora.com
   
9. It’s a lip stain, and a gloss and Scarlett is its name. LAURA MERCiER correctly named the color of her new Lip Stain in Scarlett. Use your hands and put as little or as much as you like and press into your lips. This has a satin, balmy finish…long lasting too. $20 @ sephora.com

Color Composite

ViCTORiA’S SECRET just came out with some very sexy color combinations for the fall. The Very Sexy Makeup line adds some more mosaic color combos for eyes and cheeks. I’m very partial to the Good to Go compact of the Mosaic Blushes in pinks, pearls and bronze frosts. For eyes, it’s a toss up between Hypnotic (grays, limes and chocolate) and the Front Row Mosaic Eye Shadows (aqua, pearl, white and brown). Looking at these compacts makes me want to go out and buy a new fall outfit. $18 @ victoriasecret.com ~Lisa

I have always liked the ViCTORiA’S SECRET fragrances, especially the men’s cologne. I have worn the Very Sexy For Him Cologne Spray for the past few years and now I’ve got one that I wouldn’t call masculine in any way. It sizzles and has a very appropriate name, Very Sexy Hot! Each of the Body Wash ($15), Sheer Mist ($22), Body Lotion ($20) and Eau de Parfum Spray ($49/2.5oz) blend ripe plum berry, Startgazer Lily, Musk Sandalwood, and Vanilla, among others. Look for these hot pink products in September.

A Balm By Any Other Name

There’s something so relaxing about ViCTORIA’S SECRET Beauty Rush Soothing Lip Balm (3 tins/$15 @ victoriassecret.com). Could it be the non-irritating peppermint oil? The Aloe vera? Or the thickness of the balm? All of the above and I love it.
