Fall 2011 Product Standouts - Part 1

OMG, it is already September 21st and I’m not even half way through featuring all the new fall beauty products so I’m going to stretch this Fall Beauty Pick feature into October. After all, fall is one of my favorite seasons – the colors, the textures and of course the temperatures! Here are some that are singing my tune right now.

Fall-2011-Product-Picks-first-feature Clockwise left to right:

MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash in #6 Plum ($22 @ sephora.com) – this one claims to curl and lo and behold, I think it did! A great complement when wearing their Crayon Kohl Pencil in new shade 10k, a deep eggplant sheen.

NYC COLOR In A New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish in Scenestealer Grey ($1.99 @ drugstores nationwide) – metallic grey is a hot color for fall and it goes with so many different looks.

NAPOLEON PERDIS NP SET False Eye Lashes in Manchester ($10 @ Target or target.com) – if you just want a little emphasis on your eyes, this style will do it subtly. If a strip is too hard for you to maneuver, there’s also Copenhagen, individual lashes.

PACIFICA Island Vanilla Perfume ($22/1oz, $12/roll-on @ pacificaperfume.com) – Tahitian vanilla, vanilla absolute, honey-jasmine and a touch of fruit and tea make up this totally wearable made from pure grain alcohol scent.

POP BEAUTY Face Magnet Primer ($26/1.18oz @ dermstore.com) – this makeup primer not only keeps your makeup on but it has UV protection, caffeine and anti-aging ingredients. Gotta love double triple duty products.

NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Rue de Rivoli ($25 @ narscosmetics.com) – this metallic forest green will complement any eye color. Very smooth application and it has a sharpener built in the backend.

CLINIQUE Lipgloss/Lipstick Duo in Black Honey ($21 @ sephora.com) – check out what all the hubbub is about with their cult favorite Black Honey shade. It’s their best seller for a reason and now they have it in a combo Lip Gloss and Lipstick.

A great evening scent and will leave people in your wake wonder just what the sexy scent is.

Pacifica Helps Me Hang Onto Summer

Pacifica-Perfume-Solid-Perfume-in-California-Star-Jasmine Part of me still wants to hold onto summer and the other part wants fall to be here. Are there certain scents that remind of you particular seasons? I’m sure there are! For summer, I gravitate towards lemon, rose and jasmine. One that flew across my desk recently like a hockey puck is PACIFICA’s new California Star Jasmine Solid Perfume ($9/.33oz @ pacificaperfume.com). It’s made up of notes of the Star Jasmine flower, orange and a base of driftwood that reminded the creator of being on the beach, and who doesn’t love to be at the beach?

And as the title says, this is a solid fragrance so it’s great to take with you and the base of it is coconut wax and soy wax, so no bad for you ingredients here! This is helping me hang onto summer for just a little bit longer!

Spilled Perfume Got You Down? Here's Your Answer

I can't count how many times a fragrance has spilled inside my bag while traveling and now we have some ones that won't be making any messes anywhere anytime soon. PACIFICA came out with a collection of SolidPacificasolidperfumes Perfumes ($8.95/.3oz @ pacificacandles.com) and we are smitten! These ain't no girly scents either. Choose from the combo of juniper, grapefruit and heliotrope that makes up the Avalon Juniper scent to the bitter almond, cinnamon and vanilla that is the Mexican Cocoa or my favorite of the week, a mix of rosy geranium, sandalwood and bergamot and elemi that they call Spanish Amber. Each scent really stands on its own and seems to last quite a while on the skin. Part of the reason is the base is a combination of organic and vegan soy and coconut based waxes. Now that's staying power.
