NARS-Powermatte-Lip-Pigments-in-box
So here’s the next big release from NARS and I couldn’t have been more excited to try them! NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26) is part of their Fall 2017 Collection. 20 shades total and come out on July 5 on the Sephora mobile app, July 6 on narscosmetics.com barneys.com and Sephora.

What It Is: Introducing Powermatte, a breakthrough new lip formula infused with Fluid Pigment Complex, a new super-saturated, liquefied pigment with an ultra-flexible finish that delivers concentrated coverage with lightweight long-wear. Apply to bare of lined lips for a high-impact matte look that lasts all day – or all night – long. This liquefied pigment pushes the possibilities. It’s matte at its maximum.

NARS Sheers It Up with Their Latest

NARS-Pop-Goes-the-Easel-Sheer-Pop-Multiple-in-Cote-Basque-and-Motu-Tane
You're experienced with The Multiple from NARS, right? Now we have the Sheer Multiple and two limited-edition ones with  Pop Goes the Easel Sheer Pop Multiple ($39 @ nordstrom.com). This is part of the Summer 2017 collection and like the regulars, these are buildable, weightless, and can be worn anywhere, but they’re a little sheerer than the standard ones. Great colors!

More Mattes From NARS!

NARS-Velvet-Matte-Lip-Pencils-new-shades

NARS-Velvet-Matte-Lip-Pencils-new-shades-3
Love those fat matte lip pencils? NARS just came out with 10 new shades of their Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($27 @ narscosmetics.comsephora.com) shades. What I really like about these besides the smooth formula is the precision in lining the lips that you can only get with a pencil. The name may be Matte in the name but I feel like these are not the mattes out there in that the colors don’t look dry on my lips or dries them out.

A Red from NARS Never Goes Out of Style

NARS-Blush-in-Impudique-and-Audacious-Lipstick-in-Rita

NARS-Blush-in-Impudique-up-close

When is red not a hot color in beauty? I seamlessly transitions from season-to-season as everyone can wear it and it really polishes off a look! So when I read a post here by Temptalia raving about NARS Blush in Impudique ($30 @ narscosmetics.com) from the Sarah Moon Collection, I knew I had to check it out (she gave it an A+!). Christine called it, “an amplified version of the brand’s signature Orgasm blush-just so much better…”

I found the blush to be everything she said – blendable, long-lasting, and really pretty on the skin. This has become a staple for day and night since I got it last week.

NARS-Audacious-Lipstick-in-Rita

The other red I’m touting this month from NARS is their Audacious Lipstick in Rita ($32 only @ narscosmetics.comsephora.com), a scarlet red, in a special-edition holiday release red case. I admit, I’ve been a tad out of touch with lipsticks lately, preferring the liquid lipsticks over traditional ones. But this Rita was quite the welcome back! It’s creamy and thick with pigment and really wore like ColourPop’s Ultra Satin Lips in that it was a tad transferable but delivered on richness and longevity. So yeah on those two fronts.

The State of the Union - Liquid Lipsticks

State-of-the-union

I think I’ve been around the liquid lipstick block a few times now and with the latest ones I’ve tried being on the indie side, I have some more observations. It seems that just about every brand is coming out with their own version these days, which is great, but not so great when you kinda know what formula works for you, and you don’t get it when you open the tube. If you’re on the liquid lipstick (will abbreviate to LL) bandwagon, do you know which form you like best? I think I do, now that I’ve tried quite a few different brands:

Chanel, Wet N Wild, Tarte, Buxom (part of BareMinerals), ColourPop, Motives, Cailyn Cosmetics, L’Oreal, Make Up For Ever, Stila, Laura Mercier, Merle Norman, NARS, Lime Crime, Ofra Cosmetics, Fyinnae, Maybelline, Ciate London, L'Oreal, Napoleon Perdis, Houglass Cosmetics, CoverGirl, LipSense by SeneGence, Giorgio Armani, Sephora, Kat Von D, MAC, Makeup Monster, LA Splash Cosmetics, Caked, Beauty Bakerie.

Brands on my list to try: The new ones from Smashbox, Anastasia Beverly Hills (I know, I know, I'm like the only one on the planet but I've read mixed reviews), Jeffree Star, Milani (drugstores are always out of the Amore Mattes!), Lonely Planet.

A New Breed of Liquid Lipsticks in Town

Buxom-Wildly-Whipped-Sof-Matte-Lip-ColorsNARS-Lip-Cover
By now, most of you have tried liquid lipsticks and know what you like with them and what you don’t. For me, I just like that the color lasts on lips and not on everything else. Yes, some are more transferable than others but these next two really threw me for a loop as I thought I’d seen it all when it came to liquid lipsticks and what to expect.

NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection

NARS-Fall-2015-Collection
14 pieces make up the Fall 2015 Color Collection and making its official launch in it is the Velvet Shadow Stick (8 different shades) shown here in Sukhothai (shimmering peacock) and Glénan (navy) $28.

For the collection, François Nars was inspired by the eyes. “It just seemed like the collection needed to revolve around eyes and especially how eye color and texture can convey not just character and mood but a period in time, be it an era or a decade or even a season.”

Shhhexy Shadow Shades!

Shhexy-Shadow-Shades
How much can you really say about an eye shadow? Not a whole lot besides the overall quality of it and maybe some swatches. So here are some that are tickling my … lids right now.

1. ESSENCE Metal Glam Eyeshadow in 02 Coffee to Glow ($2.99 @ ulta.com) – warm summer nights deserve a little glam and gold sparkle and this one does just that to lids without the steep price.

2. CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in 106 Hesitation ($29.50 @ chanel.com) – this medium plum burgundy can like the below, can be applied wet or dry. Seemed to perform best for me when it was dry.

3. NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona ($29 @ sephora.comnarscosmetics.com) – this is a brand new formula from the brand, can be worn wet (for more intense opaque color) or dry and it just so darn smooth going on and blending in! And isn’t this color pink tha bomb?

4. And to keep these shadows from moving around in the hot temps, I recommend the new Photo Finish 24 Hour Shadow Primer ($20/12ml @ sephora.com and smashbox.com) from SMASHBOX
