How often do you come across a makeup remover that actually works? When it comes to one, I think most of us are of the mindset, it works so I’m not trying anything else! And that’s what I’m for, I try them out so you don’t have to and to say that PROACTIV Makeup Cleansing Wipes ($15/45 towelettes @ proactive.com) totally surprised me is an understatement. These take off makeup lickety-split without have to rub-rub away at it. The towelettes are infused with allantoin and lavender and are oil, alcohol and fragrance free, so sensitive types should be able to indulge too.

Me love multi-use products and right now me love ME & THE GIRLS Bar Beleza. This is the case of the handful list of ingredients speaking the word – Capuacu Seed Butter, Cocoa Butter, Tamanu Oil, Virgin Coconut Oil and vitamin E. That’s it!

This can be used as a non-foaming cleanser, makeup remover, and an anywhere moisturizer (I like it for cuticles).

I have been on the hunt for a great makeup remover since trying a few really awful ones lately and I finally came across one that I’m giving the thumbs up. YBF BEAUTY Dual-Action Makeup Remover for Eyes & Lips really does a number at removing makeup without making me rub and tug at getting it off.

The formula is made with water, aloe, fennel and cucumber extract and is great because it doesn’t irritate the eye area when used there (you’d be surprised at the number of ones I have used that totally sting and they says, “use this to remove eye makeup.” Umm, no thanks!

Anyway, it’s one of those that separates when sitting like a very popular department store one but to activate it, just give it a shake-shake and you’re off to the races! And this one even removes waterproof mascara and lip stains (my biggest test for it and it passed). $20/5.1oz @ ybfgirlfriends.com.

I have my favorite mascara that I’ve mentioned a ba-zillion times here so not many get thumbs up from me but this  MAYBELLINE Falsies Flared by Volum’ Express Mascara ($7.77 @ drugstores nationwide) does. Not only does it define lashes but it gives them volume and lots of it with the Kera fibers in it. Yes, things can get clumpy if you are not used to a serious mascara, like this one, so I would say this one is not for the novice.

KATE SOMERVILLE True Lash ($35/1.7oz @ katesomerville.com) comes into the fold when it’s time to remove the above mascara. Part of the reason I am so loyal to … this one, is how easy it is to remove. Taking off most mascaras takes a lot of tugging and pulling in the eye area and even then, most don’t remove every speck of black but this one does. It also conditions lashes, hydrates the whole eye area with chamomile, aloe vera and a major ingredient called SymLash226 Complex that boosts keratin production, so more lashes.

Now don’t go looking for organic and natural ingredients in a makeup remover. From what I’ve seen, you just won’t find one out there! So my goal was to find one that does the job but doesn’t cost a lot. I will pay a pretty penny for a good quality product but a $30 makeup remover is just not something I am comfortable buying. This Eye & Lip Makeup Remover from NYX COSMETICS is one I’ve been using the past few weeks and am very satisfied with the results and for only $8/2.8oz @ nyxcosmetics.com. Even though I don’t wear waterproof mascara, I do wear this and a few of these and at the end of the day, they are hard to get off. Well a few swipes of some of this with a saturated cotton ball and it removes the color lickety-split! While it does contain one questionable ingredient in it, it does have a dash of orange and papaya fruit extracts, so it’s not all chemicals.

Removing waterproof mascara got you down? The pads are alcohol-free, oil-free and are perfect for those with really sensitive eyes. I can’t tell you how many face and eye products I have used that have stung my eyes. Hello? I’ve never seen anything take off lip paint to well and so thoroughly. I’ll put this one up against and liquid makeup remover any day! They come in Original Clean (infused with Triple Tea Antioxidant Complex), Age Defying (infused with Collagen and Retinol, wow!) and Micro Dermabrasion (exfoliating microbeads on one side). Face it, your skin can use a little freshen up throughout the day, so why not use one that isn’t messy like these?

For an overall deep cleansing, I would still use their Cold Cream but if you are in a hurry or on a trip, these clothes remove dirt and makeup just fine.

What's not to love about anything that can be used on the go, especially if it's going to freshen the skin up? August here in LA has been pretty hot and sticky so these MAKE-UP DESIGNORY (MUD)'s Makeup Remover Wipes ($18/40 wipes @ mudshop.com) have been a staple in my oversized purse all month. Each moist towelette not only contains cleansing ingredients but olive oil and vitamin E. And who better to test them out to the max then their New York and Los Angeles based makeup schools? They just gotta work well at removing makeup and dirt, right?
