Have you mastered the liquid liner yet? Like applying false eyelashes, it really just takes practice. And thankfully you’re not just tied to straight up black anymore. STILA has some great color options they just added to their Spring 2014 Makeup Collection with their Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Brights ($20 @ stilacosmetics.com) and bright makeup is so happenin’ right now!

What It Is: URBAN DECAY Ocho Loco 2 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set - $59 @ nordstrom.com.
STILA Art of the Fine Line - $39 @ sephora.com
Why I Like It: Because both these brands make the greatest quality eye liners on the planet (liquid and pencil) and the makeup lover in your life (even if it’s you) should be exposed to them, if they aren’t already.
This set from Urban Decay contains 8 of their 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils (ALL FULL SIZE!!) and 5 of the shades are new! Ok, let me contain my excitement a little and go through the shades: Roach (deep copper brown shimmer), Twice Baked (rich brown satin w/gold micro-sparkle new), Crave (deepest, darkest brown-black matte new), Perversion (blackest black matte), Deep End (bright metallic peacock shimmer), Mars (bright metallic green shimmer new), Ultraviolet (bright blue-violet shimmer new) and Tornado (dark eggplant pearl new) and a neon green Grindhouse Double Barrel Sharpener. Woo-hoo for the bonus product!
Moving over to the Stila collection of liners, the reusable tin contains 4 of their bestselling liners: Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black (full size), Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liners in Midnight, Moss, and Dark Brown, all deluxe sizes.
URBAN DECAY Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($19 @ macys.com) – glitter fits every look when it comes to the holidays and this one suspends it in a clear base so it stays in place for hours. Color picks: Amp (light blue w/iridescent glitter), Spandex (deep blue-black w/iridescent glitter and shown in pic) and Glamrock (silver glitter).
JANE COSMETICS Water-Resistant Liquid Eye Liner in Metallic Platinum ($8 @ janecosmetics.com) – there’s something about this metallit color (there's no glitter in it) that really puts eyes center stage. It looks like liquid mercury on the skin! Wear it alone or use it to “highlight” another color liner on lids by putting it right next to another. Available in 13 colors total and now I'm curious if the other shades have the same effect!
DOLCE & GABBANA Glam Liner – Intense Liquid Eyeliner in Black Intense ($34 @ sephora.com) – I don’t care what time of year it is, you must have a good quality liquid black liner in your arsenal. And if you need to replenish some shades, this one comes in 6 other colors.
We’ve all seen the exaggerations when it comes to the titles of beauty products – “12 Hour Wear…” here, “14 Hour,” there. So what’s in a name? It’s not illegal for them to do this but it is quite misleading. But one has come along from the LANCOME line that speaks the truth. It’s their Artliner 24H Bold Color Precision Eyeliner. Now what could that 24H stand for, hmmm? 24…hues? 24…hairs? 24…Hours perhaps? Well I got more than 24 hours of wear out of these … on my arm! That’s right. I was swatching the colors one eve and it didn’t fade or flake off well past the 24-hour mark. I even had two people ask me if the slashes were tattoos!
Bright pinks, reds, corals, nude and even seafoam are all hot colors for the spring. What are you updating your collection with this season? Here are my favorites right now. (L to R clockwise).
L’OREAL Infallible Liquid Eyeliner ($8.95 @ lorealparisusa.com) – When they come out with anything Infallible, I listen! A black liquid liner is very basic and crosses all seasons. This .4mm felt tip pen is pretty easy to apply and lasts for hours.
NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Barrow Street ($24 @ sephora.com) – I’m pretty obsessed with this seafoam green color. I have two dressed in the color and jumped for joy when I saw this liner in the same color. And it looks great on the waterline!
NAKED PRINCESS Naked Shine Luscious Lip Gloss in Barely Naked ($26 @ nakedprincess.com) – a great nude gloss is hard to find since most don’t show up. This one does, in spades but oh so naturally.
BARE ESCENTUALS Buxom Hot Escapes Bronzer in Tahiti ($28 @ bareescentuals.com) – what would the season be without a face highlighting bronzer? I’ve been using this golden bronze color just under my cheek bones to help define them.
BENEFIT Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Poutrageous! ($16 @ benefitcosmetics.com) – coral is not going anywhere this season and it’s hotter than ever, so if you’re feeling up to making a statement, take on this bright pink-coral color.
ZOYA PixieDust Nail Lacquer in Godiva ($9 @ artofbeauty.com) – textured polishes are so hot right now and this PixieDust kind from Zoya are at the top of the list of must-haves. This Godiva one described as a soft nude with sugared sparkle. Yup, that’s exactly what it looks like on nails.
SEPHORA Colorful Eye Shadow in My Boyfriend’s Jeans No 19 ($13 @ sephora.com) – this dark denim with just a touch of shimmer blue is a nice alternative to always using black to contour your eyes.

The PIXI BEAUTY line just came out with some new eye products, my favorite category of makeup, under the Make Up to Wake Up Collection called The Pixi Trio. Let’s investigate!
I’m pretty skeptical when it comes to ergonomic beauty tools as they more times than not do not work. So yes, I didn’t dive into NYX COSMETICS’ The Curve with the most open mind so did using it change my mind?
My wallet wants everything TARINA TARANTINO puts out but alas, my reality is that I can only afford some of her makeup right now. But that’s ok as I think these Eyelicity Glitter Liners are well worth the investment. Who doesn’t love a glitter liquid liner? A good one, that is. I’ve come across way too many where the glitter pieces are just too big but these are finely dispersed in the formula and each of the below colors reflects that light nicely. Shown here - Black Diamond (black liner with iridescent glitter) and Magic Mirror (micro silver glitter). $16 each @ sephora.com.
These days it seems that when it comes to eyeliners, it’s all about liquids. Colored, black, whatever you’re into, if it’s liquid, it’s in. And I’m just loving these JOUER Liquid Shimmer Eyeliners that came out as part of their Mad About Fall 2011 Collection. The collection is all about a soft shimmered lined eye paired with a nude lippie channeling the beauty style of the 60’s with a modern spin.
These liners are enriched with vitamins A and E as well as green and white tea extract and they are paraben-free. So how do they wear? Really nicely and for many hours. One swipe will do you as they are quite pigmented and all three shades are very wearable – Sable (sheer aubergine), Mink (rich taupe) and Fox (navy charcoal). $22 @ jouercosmetics.com.
