LIP SAVVY Star Studded Shine Gloss ($18 @ belipsavvy.com) – the way this think gloss catches the light is insane. The OMG color is a bright sparkling raspberry and has a hint of bubblegum smell to it.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Lip Line Perfector ($18 @ sephora.com) – there’s really no way to stop lines from appearing around our mouth and color on the lips can bleed, so thankfully they came up with an invisible liner to keep color in its place.

BOBBI BROWN Rich Lip Color SPF 12 in Desert Rose ($23 @ bobbibrown.com) from the Marrakesh Chic Collection – such a great anytime rose color. It reminds me of the first shade of lipstick I ever used.

SKINN DIMITRI JAMES Glosstick Ultra Shine Lip Color in Tender ($12.50 @ skinn.com) – we all want the look of a gloss with the staying power of a lipstick. This one in Tender is YLBB, really better.

As much as I love color right now, the nude color also has a piece of my heart. And over the years I have discovered that there is such a thing as a lippie or eye shadow being too nude as in, it’s practically invisible. I want some color with my nude, right? It’s not orange and it’s quite a ways away from red and it’s one of the colors of the season. What is it? Coral! I’ve done a couple of product picks in the Coral department and I think that out of all the colors on Pantone’s Spring list, Coral seems to be the one that gets the most reaction. It’s been a while since we’ve been able to do a Your Read It Here First ... So here’s the lowdown on the 2008 Fall Collection from URBAN DECAY.

Our pick from the collection has to be the retooled Lipstick ($22). Hold a piece of gothic artwork in the palm of your hand! And doesn't the picture on the right make it look like a toilet brush in it's holder? I wish I could get one that looked that cool. Here's the rest of the deets: 21 shades ** infused with vitamins A, C, E ** paraben-free ** creme carmel flavor ** hot purple heavy case.

Just popping up on the scene is STRiPT Natural Mineral Make-up. The face powders, blushes, eye shadows and eye pencil products use a paraben-free preservative called Natural Broad Spectrum Microbial Growth Inhibitors (sounds like a sunscreen). I did a google search and couldn’t find anything on it so I am guessing it is something they created. Let’s get back to the products. In addition to the above preservative, they also stay away from other additives found in makeup and replace them with other natural botanicals like marine botanicals and mica. My pick of the line right now is the Passionate Kiss Lipstick-Liner Pencil in Star ($17 @ striptmakeup.com). This fat matte pencil lines and fills in your lips and is scented with just a hint of vanilla and almond. The color Star looks more of a pink on their site but in person it is definitely a brown. If you love matte, this is your Lipstick/Liner.

I am really liking these Retractable Liptones ($18 @ beauty.com)  from DuWOP. In addition to being infused with vitamins C and E but each of the four shades is made to match the natural lip hue. So each is YLBB as in add a dash of gloss and you’re ready to take on the day with a color that stays. 

Let’s see what CHANEL has on deck with their Spring 2008 Collection. They’re feeling clean crisp colors and soft pastels. Eyes flip from soft and girly with one Eye Shadow Quad to bold and daring with the other Quad. Here’s what we’re feelin’:

Eye Shadow Quad in Bleu Celestes ($55) – mix it up with the darker side of the collection and these navy tones. Navy is so happen’ for spring.
Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour ($30) – this is my first experience with these really fun push-and-click-to-open lipsticks. And the blue pink of Frivole complements most any eye look.
4 Fleurs de Chanel Yeux-Eyes ($65) – pastel eyes would look swimmingly with any of Essie’s new polishes.
Glossimer in limited edition Waterlily ($26) – what’s not to love about these? And this shade is the perfect frosty pink color.
Yes, the Blue Navy Nail Colour is all the rage and can’t be found anywhere but I say, fine, accept it and paint on their Rose Satin ($19) shown here. All @ chanel.com
