I’ve been pretty lucky lately when it comes to hand creams by finding ones that really work! The latest one I am touting is VOTRE VU’s Duette Luxe Lip Balm & Hand Crème. Yup a two-in-one hand cream in the tube and lip balm in the cap. I’m all about having multi-taskers in the car and this one is perfect for that.

The hand crème has Shea Butter, oils from coconut, jojoba, and grape seed, to name a few and the scent is a cross between biscotti and supermarket frosting (I had one friend tell me this), which they call Almond Pie. I must say that I am not always in the mood for the scent so I wish they’d stuck with a more neutral fragrance with this one or maybe had an option with it.

As far as the lip balm, there is an option for a straight up balm or a tinted balm but the tinted balm didn’t seem to leave any tint to my lips. It’s a great idea but would have been nice to get some color in the tinted one! However, it does soften lips with Shea Butter, coconut oil and beeswax, which is what matters most. $38/1.35oz @ votrevu.com.

How many lip balms do you think you own? I actually sat and thought about this the other day and I came up with the number 28. And that’s just a guess. But the way I justify it is that they are stashed everywhere I might need them – the car, the nightstand, the office desk, the purse, so I do need a lot. Well, at least I think I do.

While plain ones are good, I simply loooove a good hint of tint lip balm and the latest one I’m into is FUSION BEAUTY LipFusion Balm SPF 15. This one comes in four tints and one clear. And the ones with color have just the slightest hint, almost not enough inside and each has a trademark ingredient, AmpliFat, which is a marine collagen filling sphere to plump lips up a tad. Did I notice any fullness in my lip area? No, not at all, just moisturized lips, which is good enough for me. $22 @ sephora.com.

Life is a conquest to find the most perfect tinted lip balm out there. We all know it can be a rocky road with few that take on the challenge. The ALIMA PURE line took on the challenge and came back with a winner. Their Organic Nourishing Lipbalms ($7 @ alimapure.com) not only give a slight tint to lips but, to put it bluntly, the stuff lasts on lips. And they don’t use anything questionable in the formula - Sweet Almond oil, castor seed oil and Shea Butter are the first three ingredients in the balm and overall, the texture is pretty soft as in, I don’t think this will last too, too long but then again this is probably how quickly a balm is supposed to be used up by unlike ones I’ve had for 2 or 3 years that I just can’t bear to throw away because there is still some left in the tube/pot!

Some of the other ingredients are safflower seed oil, coconut oil, white tea, jojoba and peppermint oil, which gives this one a nice scent and very slight taste.

These little chub sticks contains some nourishing oils like jojoba, mango and olive and just a hint of color. And when I say hint, I mean hint, almost not enough for me. It’s from CLINIQUE and it’s their new Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms. The finish is between a balm and a gloss so if you don’t like the feeling of wearing lipstick, think might be a good one for you. So fix your lips but look good doing it!

Stop what you’re doing and check in on yourself. Right now – what are your lips doing? Are they spring/summertime worthy as in moisturized, supple and protected? Probably not so why not reach for one that from a line that never seems to disappoint. LAVANILA just put out The Healthy Lip Screen SPF 30 and I’m finding it’s a good all-around balm. It nourishes lips with Shea Butter and makes lips feel and smell yum with peppermint and vanilla. In addition to protecting lips with a new generation of Natural Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, it has a lot of withouts like parabens, synthetic fragrances, dyes and phthalates. Well isn’t this cool - the first ingredient listed in these CRABTREE & EVELYN’s Lip Butter is Shea Butter. No wonder this stuff feels so great on the lips! And it lasts. Also inside the formula is cocoa seed butter and mango seed oil to name a few. And I’m really loving these scents: Citron Crème & Honey, Vanilla Crème Brulee and Crème de Menthe. Wow, This. Is. Love! This two-in-one Succulent Lip Twin from PIXI BEAUTY is at the top of my usage list right now! At first I couldn’t figure out which was the Lip Balm and which was the Lip & Cheek Tint but have since figured out (balm is inside the tube). For me, this product is all about what’s under the cap on top. The Poppy Red tint is thee perfect flush of color for cheeks and it’s the consistency that makes it great. More pigmented than a cream, this one stays the distance. I’m giving this one a big recommendation. Available in Nude Lilly, Coal Camellia, Pink Peony, Poppy Red. $18 @ pixibeauty.com.
