Any normal human being would say that LAURA MERCIER’s Nude Peach and Sheer Kiss Nail Lacquers ($15 @ nordstrom.com) are the same color. But duh, if you know beauty then you know they are two totally different colors and each will appease a different mood! Nude Peach is more beige-y (on the left) and Sheer Kiss is more on the pinky side (on the right). They look close in the bottle but I poured some out and then snapped a shot. Looks can be deceiving!

Remember last year when I promised to pay more attention to blushes and wear them more frequently? Well, I didn’t really meet the challenge. So, I’m hoping to renew my passion with all things blush. 7. Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour from L’OREAL is hip and chic in its two step, two sided silver plastic case. 8. The SEPHORA brand calls their Cream Lipstick No. 94 a Classic Red. It’s a creamy light (semi-sheer) true blue/red in a soft cream formula. Perfect for you “beginner” red lipstick wearers. $10 @ sephora.com
   
9. It’s a lip stain, and a gloss and Scarlett is its name. LAURA MERCiER correctly named the color of her new Lip Stain in Scarlett. Use your hands and put as little or as much as you like and press into your lips. This has a satin, balmy finish…long lasting too. $20 @ sephora.com

If you are finding yourself a little bit bored with black, you are hardly alone. Black is still hip but don’t you want to sport the new "it" shade this season? It's vibrant, powerful and both fun and fabulous to wear. Purple was sizzling on the runways and seems to be dominating cosmetics especially for the eyes so wear wines, eggplants, violets, lilacs; any shade of purple on your lids and don't forget how wonderful it is to wear on your cheeks and lips. The only thing I don’t like about a pot of gloss or stain is that after I get it on my finger and apply to my lips, what do I do with the bit that’s left on my finger besides look for a napkin to wipe it off on? What a waste of product!
LAURA MERCiER’s new Lip Stain ($20 @ nordstrom.com) leaves me to figure out that issue but the result on my lips is worth it. I have tried a lot of stains in my beauty lifetime and I can stand up and say, “I can’t feel this one on your lips at all!” Color picks: Sugar Violet (deep rosy mauve) and Scarlet (bright cherry red).
Now if they could just include a handy-dandy application tool, this one would be perfect.
