It’s officially bath season and I wanted to start it off with a bang so I poured in some of LAURA MERCIER’s new Ambre Vanillé Honey Bath in the last few I've taken. I simply adore honey and vanilla so the two combined in a sweet bath elixir is heaven.

This one foams up a bit and also softens skin with Shea Butter, sweet almond and oat proteins, and pro-vitamin B-5, so the skin will surely benefit. And the scent of this one is laid out like a perfume with layers:

The LAURA MERCIER line just came out with some new lipsticks called Crème Smooth Lip Colour and I’ve got one here that I reviewed and swatched. The color shown here is Pink Dusk ($26 @ lauramercier.com) and I just can’t get over how much I’m loving this shade, as well as it being super moisturizing. Could that be the vitamin E inside it? I got about 3 hours of weightless wear of this and I’m excited to try some of the other 18 shades offered.

It’s not often I come across a totally non-greasy yet moisturizing hand cream but that’s just what we have here with LAURA MERCIER’s Almond Coconut Milk Hand Crème from the new Almond Coconut Milk Collection. Maybe it’s the essential oils of Jojoba, grape, sunflower and olive that just sink into the skin. Not sure but what does make this one also stand out is the rich scent of sweet almond and coconut with the hint of vanilla and sugar. It’s almost overpowering and could easily be if it’s competing with a strong perfume. $15/2oz @ lauramercier.com.

In continuing to explore LAURA MERCIER’s Belle Nouveau Collection, we come to the bronzer in the collection, specifically, the Sheer Crème Colour in Copper Glow Veil ($35 @ lauramercier.com). This is a cream formula and it got me thinking about bronzers overall. What do you like about bronzer and what do you dislike? It can be tricky because you don’t want the color to look muddy, like you have a dirt mark on your face, but rather to just nicely highlight different areas of the face. And because you use so little, when you find a good one, it can last a really long time.

Just out from the LAURA MERCIER line is the Belle Nouveau Collection for spring and one of the products is such a now color. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with lipstick/gloss, really most lippies. They just feel heavy and, well, just there, so when I tried this Crème Lip Paint in Nude Coral, it was pretty much love at first feel. It’s lightweight and thin but not too thin; more like a lip tint and perfect for using your forefinger to apply.

LAURA MERCIER just came out with the Spring 2012 Colour Story: Lingerie Collection, which focuses on the soft romantic colors and fabrics of the Victorian Age. I guess everything old is new again as I think these two shown here in their packaging are so in line with 2012’s Pantone Color of the Year, which is Tangerine Tango.

I’m a little late getting to LAURA MERCIER’s limited edition Kohl Eye Pencil Set ($45 @ lauramercier.com) as they came out as part of their holiday collection but they are worth the wait. While I think the colors look kind of hard and dry in person, they couldn’t be smooth or easier going on. Kohl liners are known to be both, which makes them great for smudging but you still have to investigate.

Do you change your foundation each season? Like in the summer for example, do you only wear mineral makeup because it gets so hot? I find I don’t really have a pattern when it comes to the different types of foundation out there. I do find myself gravitating towards powder foundation mainly in the summer and them randomly throughout the year. Just something to think about!

You get a lot of subtle, that’s what. This is a case of, what-it-looks-like-in-the-container-is-not-what-it-comes-out-like-in-real-life. I’ve always had issues with managing my expectations and I thought I would nip this one in the bud for you, my reader. These new Sequin Eye Colours from LAURA MERCIER look really pigmented and wow in the compact but in real life they are quite sheer and have a soft-sparkle effect. While I do like the subtlety of these, it was not what I was expecting at all and I’d hate to see you plan your day or evening look around one of these and then have to rethink it all over again! Available in Lapis (shimmering blue violet), Sterling (pale grey blue), Violetta (vibrant purple) and Twinkling Star (shimmering pink champagne). $22 @ sephora.com and lauramercier.com.
