Love the Matte Look? Look to Jouer!

Jouer-Matte-Moisture-TintFile this under #beautybloggerproblems! I have too many products for all parts of my body and sometimes I misplace them only to come upon them another time, which is exactly what happened with

JOUER’s Matte Moisture Tint. I’ve been yeah and neh on tinted moisturizers and most have fallen in the ney category for some reason. I think that unless one contains a high SPF, I’ll just use a foundation instead. But I have to admit, they are convenient on those mornings when you are in a hurry.

So how is this one from Jouer? I’m really liking it. It’s oil-free, hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic and fragrance-free, so if you have sensitive skin, you might want to consider this one. And they even put some good-for-skin ingredients in it – their own Multi-Mineral Complex of vitamins A, C and E, and a SPF 15.

And the best trait? It leaves a nice matte finish so you can wear this as-is, or as a base for other makeup. You have to admit, finish is everything! Available in 5 shades for $38/1.7oz @

I’m such a sucker for shadows in the stick form and these new ones from the JOUER line are right up my alley. 2012 Holiday Pick - Jouer Sparkle & Pop

I wanted to get this next pick up sooner than later as I think it would make a great hostess gift and I’m sure you will have quite a few parties you will be attending in the coming weeks.

What it is: JOUER Sparkle & Pop Holiday Party Favor – it contains a Chic Cocktail Ring, Beauty Fortune, Mini Champagne Bubbles and one of three Jouer Deluxe Samples: Body Butter, Essential Lip Enhancer or Glistening Lip Gloss.

Why I like it: I’m very familiar with Crackers from England as they are a very popular item around the holidays, especially Christmas and the days leading up to it. The traditional ones always contain a joke, a party hat and a prize. So it's clever that Jouer gave theirs a twist and packaged their item up inside one.

Price: $12 @ jouercosmetics.comJouer-Sparkle-&-Pop-contents-2

Review+Swatches - Jouer Bare Beauty Collection

How often do you actually think of the packaging your makeup comes in? I mean, really look at it and think about it? Most lines use the same standard containers that, while the colors may be new, the packaging is boring and, well, just has no thought behind it.

One that does not buy into that book is the JOUER line. Their snap or slide together packaging makes it fun to put together your own “palette” to take out on the go with you.

The latest addition to their line is the Bare Beauty Collection. Click after the jump to see more pictures and color swatches.

Review+Swatch - Jouer Lip Sheer SPF 15

I’m kind of a big fan of tinted anything – face cream and especially lippies. The latest is JOUER Lip Sheer SPF 15 and this is a tinted oh-so-good-for-lips sheer colored balm. Each light vanilla-scented balmy has vitamin E and aloe to moisturize and just a slight kick of color. Great for when you don’t feel like wearing makeup but need a little something to look polished. Shown here - St. Barths – sheer coral red, Positano – sheer berry wine $22 @

Review: Jouer Cosmetics Liquid Shimmer Eyeliner

These days it seems that when it comes to eyeliners, it’s all about liquids. Colored, black, whatever you’re into, if it’s liquid, it’s in. And I’m just loving these JOUER Liquid Shimmer Eyeliners that came out as part of their Mad About Fall 2011 Collection. The collection is all about a soft shimmered lined eye paired with a nude lippie channeling the beauty style of the 60’s with a modern spin.

These liners are enriched with vitamins A and E as well as green and white tea extract and they are Jouer-Liquid-Shimmer-Eyeliner-swatchesparaben-free. So how do they wear? Really nicely and for many hours. One swipe will do you as they are quite pigmented and all three shades are very wearable – Sable (sheer aubergine), Mink (rich taupe) and Fox (navy charcoal). $22 @

Disclosure: Samples of these items were provided for review purposes.

Spring Color Pick 2010 ~ Violet & Tuscany ~

Pantone-Spring-2010-Trend-Colors Let’s continue exploring Pantone’s color picks for the season in an on-going feature I’m calling Spring Color  Picks 2010. The next two picks are Violet and Tuscany. I just love violet and it’s a great accent to any outfit or to help put the focus on a specific feature with makeup, like eyes and even nails.

And when it comes to the warm beige hue of Tuscany, this one is a smart choice if the focus of your look is on a stronger color like the above violet or if you want to look polished and not really made up.

Will any of these be taking center stage for you this season?

Spring Color Picks 2010

Pantone-Fashion-Color-Report-Spring-2010 If you follow any aspect of fashion, you’ve heard that the Pantone Color of the Year for 2010 is Turquoise. Just hearing that news recently made me want to redo my living room or at least add some turquoise accents. Did I? No but I it did make me think of beauty products and how I could reflect the trend in my everyday makeup look with a splash of liquid on my nails or powder on my lids. “Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.”

Other colors of the Spring Season? Tomato Purée, Fusion Coral, Violet and Tuscany, to name a few. So what does that mean to you? I’ll be highlighting some products that showcase the colors in an on-going feature called Spring Color Picks. First up? Turquoise and Tomato Purée. I’m pairing the soothing blue-green and the tangy classic red in one feature as I think they balance each other out nicely.

So you wanna see the product picks?
