I’m such a sucker for shadows in the stick form and these new ones from the JOUER line are right up my alley. They are called Crème Eyeshadow Crayons and come in 5 colors of creamy color and come with a built-in sharpener in the end. Love when companies think of this small but very important detail!

Why I like it: I’m very familiar with Crackers from England as they are a very popular item around the holidays, especially Christmas and the days leading up to it. The traditional ones always contain a joke, a party hat and a prize. So it's clever that Jouer gave theirs a twist and packaged their item up inside one.

How often do you actually think of the packaging your makeup comes in? I mean, really look at it and think about it? Most lines use the same standard containers that, while the colors may be new, the packaging is boring and, well, just has no thought behind it.
One that does not buy into that book is the JOUER line. Their snap or slide together packaging makes it fun to put together your own “palette” to take out on the go with you.

I’m kind of a big fan of tinted anything – face cream and especially lippies. The latest is JOUER Lip Sheer SPF 15 and this is a tinted oh-so-good-for-lips sheer colored balm. Each light vanilla-scented balmy has vitamin E and aloe to moisturize and just a slight kick of color. Great for when you don’t feel like wearing makeup but need a little something to look polished. These days it seems that when it comes to eyeliners, it’s all about liquids. Colored, black, whatever you’re into, if it’s liquid, it’s in. And I’m just loving these JOUER Liquid Shimmer Eyeliners that came out as part of their Mad About Fall 2011 Collection. The collection is all about a soft shimmered lined eye paired with a nude lippie channeling the beauty style of the 60’s with a modern spin.
These liners are enriched with vitamins A and E as well as green and white tea extract and they are paraben-free. So how do they wear? Really nicely and for many hours. Let’s continue exploring Pantone’s color picks for the season in an on-going feature I’m calling Spring Color Picks 2010. The next two picks are Violet and Tuscany. I just love violet and it’s a great accent to any outfit or to help put the focus on a specific feature with makeup, like eyes and even nails.
And when it comes to the warm beige hue of Tuscany, this one is a smart choice if the focus of your look is on a stronger color like the above violet or if you want to look polished and not really made up.

If
you follow any aspect of fashion, you’ve heard that the Pantone Color of the
Year for 2010 is Turquoise. Just hearing that news recently made me want to
redo my living room or at least add some turquoise accents. Did I? No but I it
did make me think of beauty products and how I could reflect the trend in my
everyday makeup look with a splash of liquid on my nails or powder on my lids. “Combining
the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise
inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the
everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of
wellbeing.”
Other
colors of the Spring Season? Tomato Purée, Fusion Coral, Violet and Tuscany, to
name a few. So what does that mean to you? I’ll be highlighting some products
that showcase the colors in an on-going feature called Spring Color
Picks. First up? Turquoise and Tomato Purée. I’m pairing the soothing
blue-green and the tangy classic red in one feature as I think they balance
each other out nicely.

been quite out of touch with the JOUER line. I think the last time we wrote
about it is when it came out back in 2004. Wow, time flies! Well they’re back
