Review+Swatches - Hard Candy Top Ten Eye Shadow Collection

I’ve always been a fan of the HARD CANDY line and even had their Eye Shadow Quads in the Hall of Fame for many years (they are discontinued and so I had to remove them). They were one of the first lines to really go deep into eye shadow and turn out some really unique shades. So I was really excited to hear about their Top Ten Eye Shadow Collection.

Hard Candy Show Girl's Secret

Hard-Candy-Show-Girl's-Secret-Glitter-GlueNot a lot of situations call for glitter makeup but when they do, how do you get it to stay on? Lids seem to look best dawning it, and I just discovered a reasonably priced liquid to help it stay put. HARD CANDY Show Girl’s Secret Glitter Glue & Brush is all you need to get glitter to adhere to the skin for sparkling eyes, cheeks or even a cool design.

I have been alternating between using this for glitter liner and a neutral glitter in the middle of the lid. All you do is put a drop of it in the cap, dip your brush into the liquid, pick up some glitter with the brush and liquid and swipe on the skin. You can also apply the liquid on the skin first and then press the glitter into it; try both ways to see which works best for you.

And how can you go wrong with it priced at $5? Only @ walmart.com.

Hall of Fame *review* Hard Candy Eye Shadow Quartet

Hard-Candy-Eye-Shadow-QuartetHard Candy Eye Shadow Quartet – Hall of Fame Worthy?

Pros – such great quality and the colors were some of the first edgy ones on the scene.
Cons – they discontinued them so no more new quads.

Do they stay in the Hall of Fame?

Gift Pick: Hard Candy Hall of Fame Set

Holiday-2011-Product-PickI have such a soft spot in my heart for the HARD CANDY line. It was really edgy and broke a lot of new ground when it came to unique makeup items. So when I saw this Hall of Fame Makeup Value Set ($20 @ walmart.com), I had to investigate.

Conceal It With Hard Candy

Hard-Candy-Undercover-Agent Let’s just get this out there up front – I don’t get what the inside liquid is for. They say it is an under eye brightener but I just didn’t notice any of that going on so I am just going to focus on the concealer part. The brand is HARD CANDY and the product is their Undercover Agent Undereye Brightener and Concealer Duo. The consistency of this concealer is a little thicker than I’m used to and very pigmented so you really should just dab small circles of it under the eyes and then blend with your finger. The heat from your fingertips helps it blend nicely. Available in three shades for $6 @ walmart.com.

Hard Candy Gets Glossaholic

Hard-Candy-Glossaholic-Lip-Gloss I really didn’t think I’d see the jumbo lip gloss containers like these here until HARD CANDY Glossaholic Lip Gloss ($5 @ walmart.com). There’s just something about this thickness of this wand and tube that give me confidence in the coverage that I’m getting. No skinny minis here that take time to apply! I feel like this is the grown up version of gloss! Color picks – Vanilla the Chill Out relaxing one and Coffee the Rise and Shine energizing gloss. They also have ones with color!

Product Review: Hard Candy Hide & Glow Cheek

Hard-Candy-Hide-&-Glow-Cheek I tend to have a heavy hand when applying blush. Cream, powder, it really doesn’t matter as I always have to check and double check again for exiting the house to make sure I don’t look a little clownish. That’s why I’m raving about HARD CANDY’s Hide & Glow Cheek ($8 @ walmart.com). The formula is in between a cream and a gel and it’s pretty hard to overdo it with these. Choose from 3 color duos, mine being Hot Date, which is a red on one side and a dark berry on the other.

Spring Color Pick 2010 ~ Coral ~

When I’m walking down the street or in the mall and see someone with a pop of color on like a shirt or bag, I always end up saying in my head, “That looks cool. I gotta get me something in that shade.” And I do make an effort but I find myself gravitating back to the blacks and beiges. Why is this? I mean a pop of color always feels so fun and right. One area I seem to be successful in adding a pop of color to is my makeup routine. Lips or eyes or cheeks, why not add one of the colors of the season, coral to your look?

Here are some more picks in the on-going Spring Color Picks feature. Consider picking up any of these.
