Face Saving Mists

It’s been hotter than hot in most parts of the country so why not give a mist a shot? I can’t think of a better way to give yourself an instant cool down and all three of these are over-the-makeup approved.

  Skindinavia-Kanebo-Skyn-Iceland-Lush

SKINDINAVIA Summer Moisturizer SPF8 (39/4oz @ skindinavia.com) – made especially for the summer months (the SPF could be higher, no?), this one contains hygroscopic moisturizer that mimics the skins own hydrating elements and is great for those with oily/combo skin.

KANEBO Hydrachange Mist ($75/3.4oz @ bergdorfgoodman.com) – From the Sensai Collection, this one contains their Hydrachange Complex to moisturize the skin and their Aqua Floral fragrance.

SKYN ICELAND Arctic Face Mist ($29/3.99oz @ skyniceland.com) – The name of this just sounds refreshing! Spray on some of the Multivitamin Complex with vitamins like A, B, C and E amongst others to nourish the skin.

LUSH Breath of Fresh Air ($8.95/3.3oz @ lush.com) – Never have to worry about bad ingredients inside any Lush products! Be like New Edition and Cool It Down with aloe vera gel, fresh sea water and rose oil, among others.

A tip for all of these - keep them in the frig so when you spray, instant cooling relief.

Skindinavia Prevents Summer Makeup Meltdown

Skindinavia-Cool-Flash-Makeup-Finish-No-More-Shine-Makeup-Finish Did the SKiNDINAVIA line get an overhaul? I seem to remember there being many more products in the line and I think we wrote about a few of them many years ago. While I look through past archives and figure it out, I’ll tell you about their new Finishing Sprays. In a nutshell, they rock!! I have been living by two of their products to prevent summer makeup meltdown:

No More Shine Makeup ($39/6oz, $29/4oz) – If you have oily skin, this is the makeup setter for you. It stops shine in its tracks and keep your color where it’s supposed to be.

Cool Flash Makeup Finish ($29/4oz) – has a surface cooling technology that keeps the face chill and makeup in place. Great for when you are getting ready for a night out on the town and it’s 90 degrees in the house.

They even make a spray for setting your mineral makeup. Huh? I’ve never used one over mineral foundation powder as it just seems like it could make it muddy but this one didn’t. Mineral Makeup Finish ($39/6oz, $29/4oz)

Choose from eight different sprays @ skindinavia.com.

One Pump, Two Pump With Luxtural

Luxtural-Mystique-Fountain There are some areas in the beauty that I splurge on and with others I skimp. And a relatively new category that I’ve gotten into in the last couple of years that falls in the splurge category is face mists. Seems trivial but in the hot summer months, there’s nothing like it. A new one on deck or rather, one that will be on my face when it gets hot is LUXTURAL Mystique Fountain ($78/3.4oz @ luxtural.com). And this one is really luxe and I’m not just talking about the price! It is based on Pure Pacific Ocean Rainwater and they are able to trap it way far north before it ever touches the earth. How? No clue. Maybe they ride around in air balloons?

The formula contains a one-of-a-kind complex that helps the skin benefit from the waters’ antioxidant properties so skin can look wow all day with every spritz. And the best trait? You won’t mess up your makeup when misting this one on.

29 Cosmetics Has Beautiful Benefits

The packaging is sleek and silver and classy but what’s inside will wow you more. 29 COSMETiCS premise is that every29lipscrub product should protect and nourish your skin. They use the major anti-aging ingredient grape seed extract in every product and they really pack it in there. The First Crush Lip Scrub ($23), in its lipstick silver case, does double duty. Not only does it29mist_2 exfoliate your lips, it soothes them at the same time with the grape seed oil, and also coconut oil, apricot seeds and Shea butter. No excuses now not to treat your lips on a regular basis.
A must have for your handbag is the Napa Mist Replenishing Atomizer ($25). Again, grape seed oil and an added touch of rosewater makes this fine spraying mist perfect for setting your makeup or for refreshing your skin as often as needed. Both @ 29cosmetics.com ~Lisa
