Get Pixelated with Japonesque

What It Is
: JAPONESQUE Pixelated Color Eye Shadow Palette ($38 @ and soon - Pixelated Color Eye Shadow is Japonesque Color's most multidimensional formula. Blend these micronized color pigments effortlessly onto outer eye corners for a deep, light-catching, color-shifting gradient. The Pixelated Eye Shadow Palette includes everything you need to conquer the cut crease: three exclusive Pro Basic shades to pair with Pixelated Eye Shadow.

My Take: Since I always use a close-to-my-own-skintone base color on my lids before applying any color, I really like that this has 4 basics inside. And they can be used for contouring if you dab a little of this color and mix it with a little of that!

The Pixelated shades are gor-ge-ous to look at. So how did they perform? Click after the jump to find out!

NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection

14 pieces make up the Fall 2015 Color Collection and making its official launch in it is the Velvet Shadow Stick (8 different shades) shown here in Sukhothai (shimmering peacock) and Glénan (navy) $28.

For the collection, François Nars was inspired by the eyes. “It just seemed like the collection needed to revolve around eyes and especially how eye color and texture can convey not just character and mood but a period in time, be it an era or a decade or even a season.”

A Surprise from Kat Von D's New Metal Crush Eyeshadows

I was pretty excited when I saw KAT VON D’s Metal Crush Eyeshadows ($21 @ coming out for the fall. While I try and wear the bright colors like theses when it comes to shadows it seems that I gravitate towards them more for lips but things can change!

Each color is made with the brand’s own technology called Color-Soaked Concentrate, which are custom blended powders for the greatest possible saturations of pigments and pearls in a long-wearing eyeshadow. Each seems to have a metallic finish and comes in 11 colors.

So how did these do? Well you may be surprised. I know I was.

5 Favorite New Beauty Releases

PIXI BEAUTY Full Coverage Foundation Brush ($15 @ – such a compact head but don’t let the lack of length fool you. It still does a great job at getting your liquid products into those corners and contours.

2. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE COSMETICS Crème Colour Concentrate in Discipline ($23 @ and – described as a bruised-bronze, this multi-tasking creamy color can be used on the eyes, lips, and cheeks (note that not all 17 shades can be used in the eye area).

3. L’OREAL Infallible Powder Eyeliner Pen in Purple Smoke ($9.99 @ and drugstores nationwide) – if the packaging says ‘Infallible’ on it, I’m in! Seriously though, their Infallible line is flawless. And these fat liners are great for applying a smoking eye in seconds.

4. BENEFIT COSMETICS the POREfessional: License to Blot ($20 @ – this is the latest addition to the POREfessional collection and will be great for the upcoming season. It’s an instant blotting stick with tiny invisible spheres that will mattifying any oil your face puts forth.

5. BEAUTY 360 Shape-Defining Nail File ($4.99 @ and CVS stores nationwide) – this is my new favorite file! I’ve noticed that sometimes a file has to be “broken in” so it’s not too harsh on the nails. This one arrived perfect and ready to use.
