Review+Swatches - MAC Moody Blooms Collection

It’s been a bit since I wrote about any MAC products so here is a nice colorful collection, the Moody Blooms Collection.

What It Is: Exotic, night-blooming flowers with a hint of danger inspire a hothouse of seductive shades. Sensual colours shroud eyes in earthy metallic. Eye Shadows and lips suggest hidden motives with deep blue plum and dark berry hues of Sheen Supreme Lipstick. Bronze Powder Blush provides a final adrenaline surge before these beauties dissolve into the night.

A Shadow You NEED To Add To Your Arsenal NOW!

MAYBELLINE is just coming out with a new shadow collection, and it’s a mouthful, the Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow Leathers Collection.

What I find funny is that I don’t think the brand thought of us collectors of beauty products or if someone should buy more than one shadow as the color of the shade is only listed on the top cap and not on the bottom! When I shot these photos I had to make sure I kept each cap near its bottom so I wouldn’t get confused!

Shhhexy Shadow Shades!

How much can you really say about an eye shadow? Not a whole lot besides the overall quality of it and maybe some swatches. So here are some that are tickling my … lids right now.

1. ESSENCE Metal Glam Eyeshadow in 02 Coffee to Glow ($2.99 @ – warm summer nights deserve a little glam and gold sparkle and this one does just that to lids without the steep price.

2. CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in 106 Hesitation ($29.50 @ – this medium plum burgundy can like the below, can be applied wet or dry. Seemed to perform best for me when it was dry.

3. NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona ($29 @ – this is a brand new formula from the brand, can be worn wet (for more intense opaque color) or dry and it just so darn smooth going on and blending in! And isn’t this color pink tha bomb?

4. And to keep these shadows from moving around in the hot temps, I recommend the new Photo Finish 24 Hour Shadow Primer ($20/12ml @ and from SMASHBOX

Review+Swatches - #NYXCosmetics Hot Singles Eye Shadow

Just because a product costs a lotta pennies doesn’t mean it’s worth the money spent. There are many lines and products out there that don’t have the steep price tag but the quality is still there and these 8 Hot Singles Eye Shadows from NYX COSMETICS are an example of just this.

Review+Swatches - Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic

In my continuing obsession with eyeliners, I bring you two from MAKE UP FOR EVER and their new Aqua Matic liners. Since the brand is a makeup artist’s go-to line, I expect a lot from it and have rarely been disappointed from the items.

Since temps are heating up, as the name hints at, these liners are able to lock onto lids. Each contains a combo of silica, oils, and polymers that creates a flexible film that’s able to hold up to sweating, heat, and even water. They truly don’t move after setting.

Shown here in I-30 – Iridescent Lime Green and I-22 – Iridescent Electric Blue

Choose from 10 shades with unique finishes for $21 @

Review+Swatches - Butter London Wink Cream Eye Shadows

Who isn’t into bright lip and nails these days? Pretty much all categories of makeup can be found in bright versions and BUTTER LONDON just put out a collection called the Lolly Brights Collection. While some are on the bright side like the Nail Lacquers, I found the Wink Cream Eye Shadows ($18 @ and @ more on the pastel side of the spectrum. I’m not usually a fan of pastels but these might just change my mind. Click after to the jump to see why.
