Review+Swatches - Kjaer Weis Eye Shadow
I’ve been wanting to try something from the KJAER WEIS for a moment now and I finally got my paws on an Eye Shadow. The one shown here is called Pretty Purple and it really is pretty.

Do
you have a go-to base eye shadow staple? I have several – one from IT
Cosmetics, one from bareMinerals, Bobbi Brown and the list goes on. Glad to
have come across SEPHORA’s new Pastel Pop Powdery Eyeshadows and Sparkling
Topcoats Palette ($28 @ sephora.com). It’s four basic matte shadows (dark grey,
off white, light grey and beige) and four sparkley topcoats (light grape
shimmer, pink shimmer, beigey-gold shimmer and white shimmer).
The colors are all wearable but what I like most is the all-in-one-place of this and the huge mirror inside the compact. And for the price, it’s a total bargain.

Bright pinks, reds, corals, nude and even seafoam are all hot colors for the spring. What are you updating your collection with this season? Here are my favorites right now. (L to R clockwise).
L’OREAL
Infallible Liquid Eyeliner ($8.95 @ lorealparisusa.com) – When they come out with anything Infallible, I listen! A black liquid liner is
very basic and crosses all seasons. This .4mm felt tip pen is pretty easy to apply
and lasts for hours.
NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Barrow Street ($24 @ sephora.com) – I’m pretty obsessed with this seafoam green color. I have two dressed in the color and jumped for joy when I saw this liner in the same color. And it looks great on the waterline!
NAKED PRINCESS Naked Shine Luscious Lip Gloss in Barely Naked ($26 @ nakedprincess.com) – a great nude gloss is hard to find since most don’t show up. This one does, in spades but oh so naturally.
BARE ESCENTUALS Buxom Hot Escapes Bronzer in Tahiti ($28 @ bareescentuals.com) – what would the season be without a face highlighting bronzer? I’ve been using this golden bronze color just under my cheek bones to help define them.
BENEFIT Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Poutrageous! ($16 @ benefitcosmetics.com) – coral is not going anywhere this season and it’s hotter than ever, so if you’re feeling up to making a statement, take on this bright pink-coral color.
ZOYA PixieDust Nail Lacquer in Godiva ($9 @ artofbeauty.com) – textured polishes are so hot right now and this PixieDust kind from Zoya are at the top of the list of must-haves. This Godiva one described as a soft nude with sugared sparkle. Yup, that’s exactly what it looks like on nails.
SEPHORA Colorful Eye Shadow in My Boyfriend’s Jeans No 19 ($13 @ sephora.com) – this dark denim with just a touch of shimmer blue is a nice alternative to always using black to contour your eyes.

I’m such a sucker for shadows in the stick form and these new ones from the JOUER line are right up my alley. They are called Crème Eyeshadow Crayons and come in 5 colors of creamy color and come with a built-in sharpener in the end. Love when companies think of this small but very important detail!

I’ve heard people say a shadow is a shadow is a shadow but it really isn’t. I have had some last for hours without even wearing a primer and some dissolve out of sight as soon as I am finishing up application on both eyes.
One falling in the middle of these extremes is Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Kalahari ($18 @ weseebeauty.com) from WE SEE BEAUTY’s New Medieval Collection. Described as a medium cappuccino brown with yellow undertones, the color is a very good basic to have in your collection. This one gets a B+ from me.

After all these years, I’m not sure how the BOBBI BROWN line continuously comes out with products under the “everyone can wear these shades” but they do. I tried some of the Sparkle Eye Shadow colors. So how did they wear? Click after the jump to see!
Are you afraid of bright colors for lips and eyes? I almost am. I mean, I like to look at them … a lot! But to wear them, I sometimes look too much and not touch enough. But I did decide to stop that and dive head-first into the latest from NARS. Their Duo Eye Shadow from the Spring 2013 Collection are pretty bold, at least when it comes to Mad Mad World. With the announcement of Pantone’s Color of the Year, Pantone 17-5641 Emerald, comes some new products from the SEPHORA+PANTONE UNIVERSE collaboration. It’s quite exciting to see some of the products they are putting out to highlight the shade. Let’s investigate two of them now!
I have long had a saying that when it comes to makeup, if it’s long wear, I’m there! And so I was excited to try BENEFIT’s new Longwear Powder Shadows, from the Color … By Benefit collection hitting shelves in March.
These colors come in three different finishes, depending on your mood: matte, satin and sheen. So how did these perform overall compared to yesterdays cream versions? Click after the jump!
BENEFIT just put out some new eye shadows called Creaseless Cream Shadows in their latest collection coming up in early March called Color … By Benefit. Inspired by the Art Deco design of the Golden Gate Bridge, the collection gives us some eye shadows (cream and powder), lip glosses and lipsticks. Let’s take a look at the Creaseless Cream Shadows first. They are available in 12 colors but while the packaging is brand new, this product isn’t. They put out a version of a few of these back in 2009, so some are new and some are a relaunch.
New: Bikini-tini (oyster pink), No Pressure! (rich fawn), My Two Cents (polished copper), Always A Bridesmade (pearly lavender), Blue My Mind (arctic blue), Bronze Have More Fun (antique bronze), Holy Smokes! (smoldering charcoal).
Relaunch: R.S.V.P. (sparkling champagne), Birthday Suit (brushed chrome), Skinny Jeans (pretty pewter)
