Dry Shampoo HubBub from Keratin Complex

Keratin-Complex-Dry-Shampoo-Lift-Powder-for-BrunettesDry Shampoos are so in right now with so many brands adding one to their line. Most are colorless and the only one I ever saw that was colored was from Bumble and Bumble a few years ago and it was horrible. It was pretty innovative at the time and came in colors depending on your hair color. I used the one for brunette and the first time I used it, a bunch of it stained my pillow that night. Ugh, yuck, in the trash it went. It wasn’t until now did I even remember it when I received KERATIN COMPLEX Dry Shampoo Lift Powder ($35/9g @ keratincomplex.com) to try. Overall I find dry shampoos akin to sprinkling some talcum powder on my hair and it doesn’t always blend in. With this one, it comes in three shades, brunette, blondes and a white that is neutral. And this one dispenses through a brush so you can buff it into the roots. Love that! And it has a hint of lemon so this of this one like sending your hair out to the dry cleaners, which still attached to your head.

New Line Alert! David Evangelista Hair Care

David-Evangelista-hush-volumizing-dry-shampoo Did you know that this week marks Klorane Dry Shampoo's 40th birthday? In that case I’d guess they were the first dry shampoo on the market!! I’m quite fascinated by dry shampoos as a whole anyway so covering another one this week is only fitting. It comes from the new DAVID EVANGELISTA line. Mr. Evagelista is a Hollywood hair stylist and has seen it all. I am surprised it took him this line to come out with his own line but he really took his time sourcing ingredients and working with chemists to come up with products that perform, unlike the ones he was running into. He has even included a unique ingredient called HMM-7 complex, which is a unique multiplex of stimulating and reparative peptides, emollients and anti-oxidants that protect the health of the scalp and hair.

With dry bars all the rage right now, this Hush… Volumizing Dry Shampoo is a great way to help prolong your blowout and save a little dough. This one not only sucks up oil and other impurities using rice starch but it also adds some volume to strands so you’re not walking around with a flat mop. $19/3oz @ davidevangelistabeauty.com.

Principessa Gets Into the Dry Shampoo Biz

Principessa-Beauty-Bianco-Breeze-Dry-Shampoo-3 Have you tried these dry shampoos yet? If you are trying not to wash your hair everyday but still need to refresh it, this is a good one to try out. PRINCIPESSA BEAUTY has their Bianco Breeze Dry Shampoo ($24/4.4oz @ principessabeauty.com) and it not only contains ingredients to soak up oils and give hair some texture but it also has extracts of vitamin E, aloe, chamomile and calendula.

The only thing I am not too wild about is the dispenser. It is like a baby powder shaker and I find it a little difficult to get just the right amount out – it’s either too little or too much! But perhaps I just need more practice with it.

And this one has a beautiful bonus. It’s scented with their Isolina fragrance (violet leaves, mimosa, rose and orange flower).

Fix Your Beauty w/Revlon and Neil George

The GRAMMYs were last week and wow, what a long week it was. Here’s a video of me in the backstage lounge showing off what the celebs on the show are going home with. It’s not about beauty but it’s part of my day job.

Two products that got me through the show were these:

Neil-George-Dry-Shampoo-Revlon-Lashes-in-Lush REVLON Fantasy Length False Eyelashes in #91128 Lush ($5.49 @ drugstores nationwide) – instead of one long band, these have a few clusters per section so they are super easy to put on and get close placement to the lash line. And were these a lifesaver. Because I had to be down at the show at 9:30am each day, I didn’t have time to fiddle around.

NEIL GEORGE Refresh Dry Shampoo ($18/3.7oz @ neilgeorgesalon.com) – because the hair is always such concern, it just had to look good every day but again, time was an issue and this one saved the day, each day! This one contains a triple botanical complex to absorb excess oil and really helped my blowout last longer than it would have.

And be sure to check back on Monday for a GRAMMY-related contest!!
