Probably the Only CC Cream You Ever Need to Try!

Are you buying in to the whole BB/CC cream madness that has cropped up in the past year+? Even though I’m not a big fan of them, I’m glad I came across this one. This is a CC (color correcting or color control cream) cream and is made for those looking to get rid of redness or sallowness and this one has some added benefits than your average CC cream.

COVER FX CC Cream Time Release Tinted Treatment SPF 30 ($45/1oz @ and is tinted, as the name states, and also contains anti-aging ingredients that are released for 8 hours in a time-release fashion. Not even sure how you can get a cream to do that! This one also has a built-in primer and nice high sunscreen of SPF30.

The only negative I can find with this one is the smell. While it’s not that strong and doesn’t last long at all, I do notice a chemical smell when I’m applying it to my face. Kinda like self-tanner.

Available in 9 shades. Not sure which one you would be? Try their wicked cool shade conversion chart here

Cover FX Gets Pressed with Their Mineral Foundation

Cover-FX-Pressed-Mineral-FoundationNew from the COVER FX line is their Pressed Mineral Foundation and this is only the second press mineral foundation I have ever tried, so I guess it’s hard to make a mineral foundation powder in a press form … or am I reading too much into this?!

Anyway, I just love the coverage I get from mineral foundations and a pressed formula is much more convenient to tote around than the loose version.

And is it shallow to be in love with the application sponge? Love when a company splurges in this department!

This pressed one is a medium to full coverage and is available in 24 different shades and you can find your perfect match just by knowing what your undertones are (google it) and then use that info to find your shade: P = Pink, N = Neutral and G = Golden. I think that if there is any part of beauty that is confusing, it’s the whole, “What are your undertones?” part but once you have that down, the rest is pretty easy. $35 @ and

Cover FX BritePrep FX Brightening Foundation Primer

I’ve come to pretty much expect some products to do double-duty and I’m adding makeup primers to that list. And this one is really doing triple-duty so it’s raising the bar! COVER FX BritePrep FX Brightening Foundation Primer & Photo-Aging Defense ($45/1oz @ is not only a primer but contains a SPF 50 - A SPF 50 PEOPLE! - as well as those properties that blur lines and pores using what they call Dermaveil. And they’ve also added Bearberry Extract to help with skin discoloration, which I think we can all use help with.

Have you jumped on the primer bandwagon yet? There’s still room, ya know!

Cover FX Makes Choosing Easy

I really like to shop online but sometimes what you see on the monitor is not what you get so you have to get used to doing your research on just about every aspect of a product, especially color. What I really like about COVER FX’s new The Big Cover Up 3 Step Essentials ($75 @ s there really isn’t a way to mess it up as all you have to do is choose from four color kits. FOUR!

What it is - a complexion perfection kit and it contains 5 items to help you get it right:

  • Skinprep FX – primer and anti-aging serum
  • Cover FX – Total Coverage Cream Foundation (3 different shades)
  • Setting FX – Translucent Setting Powder
  • Their #170 Precision Foundation Brush (this normally sells for $36!)
  • How-to Instructional video

You know my love of all-in-ones when it comes to beauty and the compact that houses the cream foundations and setting powder is in one container!

The overall kit really is a novices dream come true and shop with confidence online when it comes to this product.

Cover FX Gives Us A Multi-Use Brush

It’s not often, actually, I don’t think ever, that I”ve been blown away by a makeup brush but I am by this one from COVER FX. I don’t think it is even best for what it is made for! Their Cream Foundation Brush ($38 @ is 7” of usefulness but I'm really like using it for applying blush and I’ve even used it a few times for mineral foundation. It’s made of natural goat hair so it’s perfect for powders.

Now correct me if I am wrong but what I always thought is that cream cosmetic products should only be applied with synthetic bristles and real hair should be applied with natural bristles. Hmmm, I’m confused but what I’m not confused about is how much I love this brush!
