I’ve been dying to talk about this new Nail Lacquer collection from CHINA GLAZE. It’s called their Metro Collection and just about every one of these 12 big city polishes screams fall.

Here are my picks from L to R:

Skyscraper: A sparkling, glitter blue reminiscent of the sky over the city.
Urban-Night – Exactly what you need for a night on the town – rich purple crème.
Loft-y Ambitions – Burgundy shimmer and cocktail hour – nothing better.
Traffic Jam – Stop traffic with a breathtaking, raspberry pink crème.
Midtown Magic – Burgundy base with flecks of gold shimmer captures the latest fashion trend.
Street Chic – Gorgeous beige crème perfect for letting your clothes do the talking.
Brownstone – burnt terracotta crème mirrors the quaint townhouses of the city.

Want to know what the latest trend in nail polishes is? Crackle! Sort of like this I did back in March 2010, it’s gives the nail an unsmooth texture. A few lines have come out with these Crackle nail polishes and I was able to try the ones from CHINA GLAZE. Just paint your nails with any color like you normally would, wait for them to fully dry and then apply a coat of Crackle Glaze! It takes about 10 seconds for it to start drying and crackling. The finish is kind of matte so for you apply a top coat to keep your mani/pedi a long time.

Here’s a cool twist on the greige or mushroom trend right now - add a little gold micro-glitter in this Nail Lacquer  from CHINA GLAZE and you’ve got Ingrid. It’s from the Vintage Vixen coming out this Fall and I must say that the darker colors in this collection are quite nice (I’ll get to them in the next few weeks). In the meantime, I just think this Ingrid color is so now but upon wearing it out for a few days, I can’t decide if I like the color better indoors than out. Let’s continue exploring Pantone’s color picks for the season in an on-going feature I’m calling Spring Color  Picks 2010. The next two picks are Violet and Tuscany. I just love violet and it’s a great accent to any outfit or to help put the focus on a specific feature with makeup, like eyes and even nails.

And when it comes to the warm beige hue of Tuscany, this one is a smart choice if the focus of your look is on a stronger color like the above violet or if you want to look polished and not really made up.

What colors look best on tips and toes when the weather is sunny and nice? Neons of course! CHINA GLAZE is coming out with the Poolside collection Nail Lacquers and I can’t really decide which one I’m digging on most as it seems to change every few days. It is a four-way tie between these four:

• Flip Flop Fantasy – neon coral
• Pool Party – neon pink
• Towel Boy Toy – neon blue
• Sun Worshipper – neon orange

I read here that these neons show up better if you put a coat of white polish on under the neon.

I’m not quite into winter and not quite into spring hues when it comes to nail polishes these days I'm just all over the map! So there's no point in talking about trends because mine are changing day to day and I don't see a pattern. So here are the five I’ve been jumping around the last few weeks.

Speaking of, I have been wearing CND’s Asphalt since Sunday and my fingers and it’s now Friday morning and NO CHIPS WHAT-SO-EVER. I even had to help a friend move a room the other night, which usually totally does a mani in but this is holding up. So did CND perfect the formula when they tweaked the packaging? Wow, loving this!
