Review+Swatches - Tarte Cheek Stain in Awakening

I started my website pretty much around the time the first Cheek Stain from TARTE came out. Can you believe it has been 12+ years later and they are still putting shades out? The latest is called Awakening and is described as a glowy nude with pink undertones and well, I like it. Not love though, as I want my blushes to show up, but this one does a nice job at just giving a hint of color on cheeks.

Who is this one best for? If you are not really comfortable with blush just yet or are letting other features stand out, this could be a good middle of the road one to try out. $30 @ tartecosmetics.com.

Review+Swatches - Chanel Powder Blush in Frivole

Anytime I just see any version of orange in new beauty products coming out, I automatically think Spring, and it just gets me giddy! Someone pointed out to me the other day that we are about 2 months away from the official first day of the season, so it only makes sense to start exploring what we’ll be wearing soon enough.

Review+Swatches - Jouer Bare Beauty Collection

How often do you actually think of the packaging your makeup comes in? I mean, really look at it and think about it? Most lines use the same standard containers that, while the colors may be new, the packaging is boring and, well, just has no thought behind it.

One that does not buy into that book is the JOUER line. Their snap or slide together packaging makes it fun to put together your own “palette” to take out on the go with you.

The latest addition to their line is the Bare Beauty Collection. Click after the jump to see more pictures and color swatches.

Fall Cheek Pick – IT Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Flush

Cheeks are big this season, as in defining them, so make sure you have the latest shades and technology on your side. And like I’ve said before, get one that’s multi-purpose or double-duty like IT COSMETICSnew Vitality Cheek Flush ($24), though I’m not quite sold on the whole “infusing anti-aging ingredients inside makeup.” I mean, does the average person wear enough of it to reap the rewards? Or is this just a cosmetics trend. Things that make you go hmmm…

Anyway, in addition to these containing some major anti-aging ingredients, they are also a first ever, powder blush stain.

So how do they perform? Click after the jump to find out and to see more photos and swatches.

Fall Cheek Pick – Lorac Pro Powder Cheek Stain

A stain. So many product claim to be stains as in what KoolAid does to your lips after drinking too much of it. And I looooove a good stain but too many product claim to be stains but in the end are not. Would I call this LORAC Pro Powder Cheek Stain a true stain? Click after the jump to find out.

Fall Palette Pick - AMWAY Artistry Escape to Paradise Cheek and Eye Palette

I’m really feeling the colors inside AMWAY’s Artistry Escape to Paradise Cheek and Eye Palette in Crystal Glacier Cool Palette from the Fall Collection and I think they’re perfect for an evening look. The colors blend beautifully and if there was one palette to have in your collection, I’d say right now this one is it. And this compact comes in a velvet case with three quality mini-brushes, so you can apply on the go.

Review+Swatches - Tarte Cheek Stain in Loving

I’ve always loved TARTE’s Cheek Stains and did you know this was the first product they came out with back in 1999? Since then, the brand has really made a name for itself and often competes side-by-side the major brands in the magazines.

Tarte-Cheek-Stain-in-LovingThe latest shade in the stain is in Loving, described as a soft rose, looks a little too shimmery in the push-up-pop container, but doesn’t look that way on the skin. It just imparts a nice sheen of subtle color. And like all their stains, there is no alcohol in them and they contain their own t5 Super Fruit Complex of antioxidants. $30 @ tartecosmetics.com.
