Are you into the whole face sculpting trend yet? I’m still working on getting it down; I always feel like I have too much makeup on when I do it! Anyway, if you’re not into it and just into ol’ fashioned blush, read on! MAKE UP FOR EVER recently came out with HD Blush and HD Pressed Powder. I am so behind on getting to these but better late than never, so onward!
Lotta buzz around the Matte Multiple from NARS and I got my hands on the rosy coral of Laos! It’s funny that they call this a matte multiple. I mean, aren’t all the multiples matte? Who has ever seen or put out a shiny blush?
Anyway, this one can be used wet or dry and I guess what sets these apart from the other Multiples, besides the shades, is that they have updated the formulas. Each is still very versatile and can be used on lips and cheeks.
This rosy coral called Laos shown here seems really versatile and will look beautiful on many different skin tones and it left a light stain on my skin, which I loved. $29 @ sephora.com and narscosmetics.com.
Are these multiples on your must-have list this season?

I'm starting a new on-going feature called "5 Favorite ... " where I list my 5 current favorite products in a particular category. So this week, I've chosen Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid.
It’s almost like they picked it just because it’s such a great color when it comes to makeup! Here are my favorites when it comes to this color. Are you wearing any radiant orchid these days on your features?
THE BODY SHOP Bunch of Violets Shimmer Cubes Palette #23 ($22 @ thebodyshop.com) – this quad is great for creating an overall orchid-colored eye look. The cube shades are: Orchid Purple, Candy Pink, Pearly White and Velvet Plum. Use wet or dry and apply with brush or your finger and blend, blend, blend.
MARC JACOBS BEAUTY Shameless Bold Blush in #212 Outspoken ($30 @ sephora.com) – blend in this surprisingly workable shade on cheeks. So unexpectedly fun.
DOLCE & GABBANA The Nail Lacquer in Passione ($24 @ sephora.com) – along with the Beauty Addicts, this one is a spot on perfect shade of the trending color. Gorg!
BEAUTY ADDICTS Lip Addiction in Seduce Fierce ($17 @ beautyaddicts.com) – I think this shade perfectly describes the shade. The coverage is sheer to medium depending how much you apply.
KANEBO Sensai Rouge Everlasting Colour in #115 Iwatsutsuji ($40 @ neimanmarcus.com) – this one is just a smidge more purple so if you want your trending shade more on that side, this would be a good one to try. And these lippies are really smooth and last quite a few hours.
Love BENEFIT COSMETICS’ cheek stains? Well they just came out with a new one called Lollitint. And it’s right on trend with 2014’s Color of the Year, Orchid. This one called described as a candy orchid and is a lilac or lavender cream color.
Since these are a stain, I find the best way to apply them is to dab-dab onto a sponge and then dab-dab onto cheeks. That way there is no harsh lines or streaking.
Is this something you will be picking up for 2014?

Here are some essentials you should pack before hitting the road next time:
Makeup Bag - SEPHORA COLLECTION The High Roller ($48 @ sephora.com) – this one had velcro’d in see-through makeup bags inside that you can store all your weekend items. Unroll it and hang it from the door with its built-in hanger to see all your items at one time.
Hair Volumizer - TAYA Amazon White Clay & Acacia Collagen Hair Plumper ($24/8oz @ tayabeauty.com) – no matter where I travel, I seem to bring my flat hair with me but this one seem to keep the case of the permanent flatsies at bay. The combo of a mousse and hairspray in one helps give hair volume and hold.
Nude Lippie - HOURGLASS COSMETICS Femme Nude Lip Stylo in Nude No. 5 ($30 @ hourglasscosmetics.com) – I love a lip balm when I’m traveling but I also need a little color or rather polish to my look, so what better way then with a nude lippie?
Sun Protection for Hair - L’OREAL Everpure UV Protect Spray in Rosemary Mint ($8.99/8.5oz @ amazon.com and drugstores nationwide) – since going full on red, as in redhead, I am super protective from keep it true as long as possible. You spend good money on your hair color so shouldn’t you make it last?
Sun Protection for Skin - COPPERTONE Faces Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 50 ($9.89/2oz @ coppertone.com) – no matter what time of year it is, You. Need. Sunscreen! Sometimes sunscreens can sting but this one is formulated for sensitive skins and doesn’t leave a white hue behind.
Deodorant/Antiperspirant - CERTAIN DRI Antiperspirant Roll-On for Excessive Perspiration ($6.29/1.2oz @ certaindri.com) – I’ve tried sooooo many out there and at the end of the day, this seems to be the only one that works and works consistently.
Cheek Color - NARS Multiple in Portofino ($39 @ narscosmetics.com) – I find that a medium coral on cheeks looks swell any time of year and is unexpected in the fall to winter months. And it makes me look wide awake than I may be feeling.
Face Mist - NEAL’S YARD REMEDIES White Tea Facial Mist ($19/1.52oz @ nyrorganic.com) - to soothe skin with the possible climate changes. No matter what time of year, I like to have a face mist on hand and this contains 92% organic ingredients.

When I first laid eyes on the BENEFIT COSMETICS’s new Rocktateur Box o’ Powder ($28 @ benefitcosmetics.com) I thought it looked a lot like Dallas, which is one of my favorite all-time blushes. But upon further inspection, I see that this one is not as bronzy and described as a rose gold, while Dallas is a more of a rose bronze color.
And while this Rockateur is certainly easier to wield because it’s lighter and buildable, I still think Dallas suits my tone better because it helps give cheeks some definition because of the bronzer color mixed with some pinky blush color.

Gels, jells, Jello … any kind of gel makeup product always gets me excited even though it’s usually only for the cheeks and lips. The latest to get my attention in the category is from the JOSIE MARAN line and it’s her Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée ($22 @ sephora.com).
What it is: This buildable, blendable blush hybrid provides the natural look of a cream blush with the long-lasting 14-hour hydrating color of a gel stain. Infused with 50% pure Coconut Water, it instantly hydrates while nourishing with the powerful benefits of Vitamin E-rich Argan Oil. Like a refreshing sip of Coconut Water for your skin, this moisture-packed blush instantly drenches cheeks in a cool veil of color.
They look great but since it’s all about performance when it comes down to the decision of purchasing or not, how did these perform? Click after the jump to find out.
I started my website pretty much around the time the first Cheek Stain from TARTE came out. Can you believe it has been 12+ years later and they are still putting shades out? The latest is called Awakening and is described as a glowy nude with pink undertones and well, I like it. Not love though, as I want my blushes to show up, but this one does a nice job at just giving a hint of color on cheeks.
Who is this one best for? If you are not really comfortable with blush just yet or are letting other features stand out, this could be a good middle of the road one to try out. $30 @ tartecosmetics.com.
