LAURA MERCIER just came out with the Spring 2012 Colour Story: Lingerie Collection, which focuses on the soft romantic colors and fabrics of the Victorian Age. I guess everything old is new again as I think these two shown here in their packaging are so in line with 2012’s Pantone Color of the Year, which is Tangerine Tango.
The last product I tried from the NUANCE SALMA HAYEK makeup collection is the Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio in Spice 305. So how did it go?
This rich and indulgent collection envelops the senses. Darkly sophisticated tones are accompanied by shocks of dazzling iridescence, creating a breathtakingly modern interpretation of the most illicit nightlife in history.
I just got my hands on some of ILLAMASQUA’s Theatre of the Nameless collection. Here are pics of what I tried.
MAYBELLINE just came out with some new products that I’ll be reviewing and swatching in the next few weeks. First up is Dream Bouncy Blush, a lightweight spongy-type formula. When I first saw them I thought they were going to be like the mousse blushes they came out with a little while ago but they are so not like those.
Let’s kick off the New Year with a really great palette; probably the best one I’ve seen in the last year.
Have you seen STILA’s Dream In Full Color Palette in person? I didn’t realize how large it was until I saw it when popped into Sephora recently. I know it’s hard to tell the size of things when looking at it online so I took the liberty of taking some pictures of it in different locations. Stay with me as it will be worth it at the end…
There is this girl in my boot camp class that wears quite a bit of makeup to class. Mind you, this is a gym class that we all sweat a lot in so why she wears a full face, I’ll never know. I have to admit that I can’t stop starring at her during our workout session as she has a streak of what looks like plum bronzer down each check, reminiscent of Lindsay Lohan’s recent court appearance. I gotta hand it to her, it doesn’t wear off while we’re sweating our butts off so she’s using a good brand but, suffice to say, it just looks odd. In the way that the average person would look at her and not be able to place their finger on what is quite wrong in the picture.
So I’ve been thinking of her when trying out JABOT’s Never Ending Cream Blush. Available in 3, what I’m going to call, Your Cheeks But Better (YCBB), shades, Natural Flush, Glazed Petal and Sweet Nectar (shown here), I think it will be pretty hard to wear too much of this at one time.
As you can see, there is a clear core to this one and that’s a moisturizer that contains their own Miracules Complex of cactus flower extract, and vitamin E among others inside a mineral cream. $22 @ shopjabot.com.
NARS' Orgasm Blush has topped many-a Top 10 lists since it came out and I think I found a dupe for it. NYC COLOR Cheek Glow Powder Blush in Hello Lover! Pink ($2.99 @ drugstores nationwide) is the closest blush I’ve ever seen to it. I’d say that in person it looks a smidge pinkier but on the skin, I can’t tell the difference. Can you tell which one is which in the photo?
I am so loving the latest collection from JEMMA KIDD’s JK line and it’s so affordable. Here are the details and why I am loving these two products she just put out.
Red Carpet Lip & Cheek Tint & Gloss ($18) – this one is a stain on one side and lip/eye gloss on the other but for this one it’s all about this stain. It uses the roller ball to dispense the color so just roll some on and quickly blend it in and the nice flush lasts for hours!
I also tried it as a stain for my lips but it seemed to work better on cheeks. If you just like a slight tint of color, maybe this would work for you. Available in Dress Up (berry red) and Glam up (petal pink).
Harsh lines on eyes just don’t work all the time. Sometimes you just want a little smoke and applying liner and then smoking it out can be just too many steps. So I’m loving her I-Sculpt Shadow & Liner ($17) is a quick way to swipe on some gorgeous color. One side is the liner and the other is the side is a rubber smudgy with a complementing shadow color. Available in Mary Q (charcoal), Carnaby St. (brown) and Kings Road (plum).
I can’t remember what famous person stated that before leaving the house, you should take off one item, and for me, the “taking off” is usually toning down the blush. I’m glad that I recently came across LAURA GELLER Air Whipped Blush as they are very subtle and pretty much goof-proof. The formula is like a whipped mousse that will impart just the slightest hint of color, which you can see in the picture here. Ms. Laura amp’d this one up with antioxidants, a dash of Squalene and Shea Butter and paraben-free. Available in Whisper Petal (soft pink) and Whisper Rose (sheer mauve with a touch of luminescence) for $26 @ laurageller.com.
