Fall Body Cleanser Picks

Falll-2011-Beauty-Pick-logo
Do you prefer a liquid body soap or bar soap? I oscillate between the two throughout the week with no real favorite rearing its head. Here are four new ones that just came out that are in full rotation in my shower.

Fall-Body-Cleansers-2011 BODYCOLOGY Shower Gel & Bubble Bath in Enchanted Forest ($4.99/16oz @ bodycology.com for locations) – using real honey and aloe vera, this one smells of jasmine (my favorite) and nutmeg on a base of musk and just really clean smelling.

THYMES Triple-Milled Soap in Bergamot Vert ($13/7oz @ thymes.com) – this one is a dash of floral, a dash of woody and two dashes of citrus. Yes, it’s officially fall but this one seems to delight all year round.

SOAP & PAPER FACTORY Handmade Shea Butter Soap in Close ($8/4oz only @ Anthropologie stores nationwide) – now you and your man can enjoy the same soap as this one is a tad masculine – sandalwood, cedar and a hint of citrus.

BATH & BODY WORKS Shower Gel in Paris Amour ($10.50/10oz @ bathandbodyworks.com) - this scent collection just came out and it’s surprisingly nice this time of year – French tulips, apple blossoms and sparkling pink champagne.

Review: Thymes new Agave Nectar Collection

Thymes-Agave-Nectar-Soap THYMES just put a new scent out, Agave Nectar, and now every time I go into the bathroom I have to stop and smell the soap! Picture ruby red grapefruit, tangy guava, lemon blossom and agave nectar and you have the scent of this collection. It comes in quite a few types of products but mine have to be the Soap ($13/70z), Home Fragrance Mist ($16/3oz) and Bubble Bath ($20/12.25oz). All @ thymes.com.

Sephora Puts Me In A Vacation State-of-Mind

I’ve polled a few people lately on what women look for when it comes to bathing products. Some like a milk bath, or a bubble bath and some like those salts and oils. I seem to fluctuate between all and sometimes just mix the different types in together, like I’m cooking!  Here’s one that has me smitten right now.

What better way to feel tropical in the dead of winter than with SEPHORA’s Bath and Shower Bubbles in Coconut Cream ($2/2.5oz, $16/10oz @ sephora.com).  This one combines the scents of coconut milk, toasted almonds, Hawaiian white honey, vanilla mousse and musks. And it’s good for the skin too, packing aloe and jojoba inside.

Scents that Rock - Philosophy

Philosophy-Field-of-Flowers Just because it’s September doesn’t mean that fragrant flowers are not in bloom. Well they are at least in bloom in my shower with PHILOSOPHY’s new Field of Flowers Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath. And this one really brings me back like, “Calgon, take me away!” I’ve used it a few times as a bubble bath and smelling the intoxicating freesia notes is like running through a fresh meadow in the spring. A great way to end a long work day with a Scent that Rocks! Choose from both of the following:

Ultra Rich Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath ($16/16oz)

Ultra-Rich Body Lotion ($24/16oz)

Both @ philosophy.com.

What makes them eco? Each uses biodegradable formulas, 86% to 95% natural and plant-derived ingredients, recyclable and/or reusable packaging, and there is no animal testing or animal-source ingredients. Choose from mango with the Mango Evasion group, peach with the Peach Obsession collection of products and our pick, the yummy pomme or Apple Illusion collection.
