Spring Color Must Haves

Bright pinks, reds, corals, nude and even seafoam are all hot colors for the spring. What are you updating your collection with this season? Here are my favorites right now. (L to R clockwise).

Spring-Color-Must-Haves-2013L’OREAL Infallible Liquid Eyeliner ($8.95 @ lorealparisusa.com) – When they come out with anything Infallible, I listen! A black liquid liner is very basic and crosses all seasons. This .4mm felt tip pen is pretty easy to apply and lasts for hours.

NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Barrow Street ($24 @ sephora.com) – I’m pretty obsessed with this seafoam green color. I have two dressed in the color and jumped for joy when I saw this liner in the same color. And it looks great on the waterline!

NAKED PRINCESS Naked Shine Luscious Lip Gloss in Barely Naked ($26 @ nakedprincess.com) – a great nude gloss is hard to find since most don’t show up. This one does, in spades but oh so naturally.

BARE ESCENTUALS Buxom Hot Escapes Bronzer in Tahiti ($28 @ bareescentuals.com) – what would the season be without a face highlighting bronzer? I’ve been using this golden bronze color just under my cheek bones to help define them.

BENEFIT Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Poutrageous! ($16 @ benefitcosmetics.com) – coral is not going anywhere this season and it’s hotter than ever, so if you’re feeling up to making a statement, take on this bright pink-coral color.

ZOYA PixieDust Nail Lacquer in Godiva ($9 @ artofbeauty.com) – textured polishes are so hot right now and this PixieDust kind from Zoya are at the top of the list of must-haves. This Godiva one described as a soft nude with sugared sparkle. Yup, that’s exactly what it looks like on nails.

SEPHORA Colorful Eye Shadow in My Boyfriend’s Jeans No 19 ($13 @ sephora.com) – this dark denim with just a touch of shimmer blue is a nice alternative to always using black to contour your eyes.

Red Carpet Legs with Red Carpet Kolour

Red-Carpet-Kolour-Body-GlowThis RED CARPET KOLOUR Body Glow reminds me of this one that generated quite the buzz a few years back but there are a few improvements, which I likey!

What it is – a luminous body lotion that that is applied in a circular motion and once it sets (takes 5 minutes), it won’t transfer to clothing, sheets etc.

What I like – wow, it really made my legs look so fab with the slight self-tanner I had on them already. The effect is subtle but a nice detail that we don’t often think of. Just make sure to immediately wash your hands with a scrub after applying so it doesn’t stay in palms because this stuff stays put! And speaking of staying put, it lasted on my skin for a few hours. Bravo. Choose from Light, Medium and Tan for $39.95/5.5oz @ redcarpetkolour.com.

Review+Swatches - Kanebo Sensai Designing Duo Bronzing Powder

So I brought up bronzers yesterday and I admit I used to be quite scared of them and avoided them for quite a few years. It’s hard to know exactly what to look for in a good one but at the end of the day, it all comes down to what kind of look you are going after.

One trait this next one brought up was, when it comes to bronzer, shimmer or no shimmer? I have long liked no shimmer but this one has given me some experience with a shimmer version. KANEBO Sensai Collection Designing Duo Bronze Powder ($45 @ bergdorfgoodman.com) is more luxurious than your average bronzers. It contains pearl particles, Koishimaru Silk Extracts, which is used for its moisturizing properties, macadamia nut oil, rice extract, among others.

Review+Swatches - Laura Mercier Sheer Creme Colour

In continuing to explore LAURA MERCIER’s Belle Nouveau Collection, we come to the bronzer in the collection, specifically, the Sheer Crème Colour in Copper Glow Veil ($35 @ lauramercier.com). This is a cream formula and it got me thinking about bronzers overall. What do you like about bronzer and what do you dislike? It can be tricky because you don’t want the color to look muddy, like you have a dirt mark on your face, but rather to just nicely highlight different areas of the face. And because you use so little, when you find a good one, it can last a really long time.

Review+Swatches - Charlotte Ronson 2 X A Charm Blush/Bronzer

I have to admit I’m not much of a fan of reality star lines, the shows yes, the lines, no, but I was intrigued by the CHARLOTTE RONSON line and especially after I saw her 2X A Charm Blush/Bronzers.

Review+Swatch - Chanel Lucky Stripes Iridescent Powders

Living on the West Coast, it is pretty much expected that one will travel to Las Vegas a few times a year but I’m not one of those people. I mean, I don’t play casino games and I don’t really lounge by pools so CHANEL’s latest collection of products is probably as close as I’m getting to the city in the next few months!

Leave it to them to come up with a collection called the Exclusive Creation Las Vegas de Chanel and this new gorgeous Lucky Stripes Iridescent Powders for Eyes and Cheeks.

Review+Swatches - Addiction NV Cosmetics ReHab Collection

The few ADDICTION NV COSMETICS items I’ve tried have been pretty good and I’m adding this next one to that list. They just put out 3 different concealers to conquer or rather reHab your eye ailments.

All three products contain natural extracts and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, which is derived from coconut oil and known to calm the skin so it helps with puffiness under the eyes. Each is mineral-based and made to heal and conceal.
