Is metallic makeup as in metallic eye shadow just shimmer to the max? Some shadows I have tried, yes, and others no. From what I can gather, it has to do with refining the pigments in the powder and that gives it the extra intense boost. BOBBI BROWN just put out two new Metallic Eye Shadows ($20 @ bobbibrown.com) from the Summer 2008 Bronzed Pink collection. Aptly named Bronzed Pink and Penny. Both are a sheer wash of intensity. Is that an oxymoron?

We’ve been so caught up in the Holidays that we’re a little late on our last color pick of the season, Metallics. They are hot and my favorite feature to play up has to be the eyes and my other … you’ll see tomorrow.
The Internet is just not the place to see the powerful effects of metallic and metal colors like gold and silver. You just can’t get the intensity and luster of a color. And do glitter products count under the metallic umbrella? It’s tiny metal-like pieces, right? We could have gone crazy with the glitter products but only a few really qualified for this piece so here are some suggestions to check out in person.
In continuing our fall feature of Red, Red Lips, have you noticed they are everywhere? Keep in mind that looks in the tube can be deceiving and you only truly know a shade’s coverage once you apply it.

SONIA KASHUK is diving into the mineral makeup category with their first release next month, Sheer Magic Mineral Face Palette, and will include a concealer, powder blush and powder foundation. Each is container is stackable and portable.
BY TERRY is introducing a 15-unit VIP Expert skin care line later this month exclusively at Sephora locations.
DERMALOGICA is launching a full 8-unit men's line called Shave Collection.
The new additions will accompany their already existing Close Shave Oil and Clean Bar products. They will be available in their spas and salons in Feb 2008.
The BOBBI BROWN line is putting out a foundation just for you normal to oily skin types with their new Moisturizing Cream Compact Foundation. It will be available in 19 shades later this month for $40.
The MODE COSMETICS line is expanding into the skin care category. The products will be available at healthfood stores, supermarkets and boutiques nationwide early next year.

Here are some special products to address eye concerns and helps us with lines, wrinkles and dark circles. JOEY NEW YORK Firm and Tone Eye Cream ($30/.5oz @ joeynewyork.com) should be patted on and pressed in and around the eye area for hydrating and helping diminish appearance of fine lines and shadows. Itâs very rich, but definitely not greasy! Great to use before makeup application.
PUR MiNERALS Mineral Eye Prep ($17 @ purminerals.com) in fast becoming a morning staple. After you moisturize and before you apply your eye shadow, give this wand a try. The Eye Prep will serve as a primer, neutralize eyelid color and provide antioxidant protection. 
BOBBI BROWN brings our eyes into the lightness of being, with the aptly named Eye Brightener ($32/.24 oz @ bobbibrown.com). A very small amount of this light pink cream will not only hide dark circles but also lighten the entire eye area, which makes you look more refreshed.
