It’s full-on bath season and this past weekend I celebrated again with BELLA LUCCE’s Asian Indulgences Goji Berry Bath Bliss. I’m pretty bananas about hard water in that I don’t want it, so this hybrid bath tea/milk bath was a welcome treat since it really softens the water so beautifully. And the ingredients are really A+: Coconut fruit juice powder, Epsom salts, Goji Berry fruit, among a few others and this one contains 97% natural ingredients. And because it’s in a powder form, it will last on your shelf longer (18 months).

I’m happy to introduce you to a new line that I think you’ll be hearing more about in the coming months. SPLURGE SKINCARE was started by a body scrub given as a Christmas present. Can’t you hear the conversation, “Wow, this is a really good scrub. You should start selling it…” The line hails from Massachusetts and is based on the philosophy that you shouldn’t wait to treat yourself. And what better way than with a beauty product? I concur!

There are three products in the line right now and I’m giving major props to The Rub right now. It’s a sugar scrub and the ingredients truly do the talking, as they should: sugar, organic safflower oil, meadowfoam oil, glycerine, organic cocoa butter, organic shea butter, aloe vera juice and then various oils to enhance the “flavor” of the three scents offered, which are Almond, Peppermint and Lemon. $26/8oz @ splurgeskincare.com.

LAVANILA just came out with a 2-in-1 called The Healthy Body Wash 2-In-1 Shower & Shave. And while the price tag of $15/8oz may seem a tad steep, think about the price of a body wash that you use and shaving cream and you are cutting down on the amount of waste by using a 2-in-1. Before I tried this one, I took one of my regular body washes I had in the shower and applied some under my arms to wash and then took a razor to see if this was just a gimmick and you know, it’s not. The body wash I used didn’t seem to give me the razor the same glide. Should I have tried another body wash? Ok, let’s not get crazy!

And like all other Lavanila products, this one is made without parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes and other nasties we should all try to avoid in our products.

I don’t always have time for a good scrubbing in the shower so I love when I come across one that does double duty like this one from SPA SISTER. One side of this Miracle Smoothing Spa Mitt is super soft and the other is quite rough so depending on what part of the body you are using it on, go hard or soft. Think of it as a wash cloth on steroids! For my arms, I use it so I get a combination of a little soft and a little rough. $12 @ bathaddiction.com.

And if sliding on a mitt ain’t your thing, then try their 100% nylon Twin-Skin Polishing Towels. It’s the same rough scrubbing all over and not just on one side in a, as the name says, a small towel form.

Ooo soaps! If you read Cybelesays.com, then you know I’m fan. And CRABTREE & EVELYN is adding some to my pretty vast collection with these from these triple-milled soaps from their new Heritage Collection. So what is triple-milled exactly? Triple-milled is a manufacturing process that simply means that the soap is shredded apart three times and then put back together. Milling helps distribute the color and fragrance evenly throughout the final bar of soap and it helps it last longer by making it harder (ref. sudsreport.com). I wonder why no quadruple-milled or … not sure what the next term would be! You know how companies are always trying to one up each other. But I digress.

I’ve been a tad out of touch with my favorite honey ingredient lately and remembered how much I love it with this next one. From the Noodle & Boo line is GLOWOLOGY and their Moisturizing Body Bar ($8/5.75oz @ glowologyskincare.com) was made for those with dry skin and with one look at the ingredients, yup, this will give you some moisture – honey, Shea Butter, and vitamin E are the three majors inside. And it has a slight powder/honey scent to it. Nice.

There’s just something about the honey-based products that LUSH puts out. They are the best (bold) smelling honey products I have ever come across and I just want to shout this from the mountain tops! The latest one I’m loving is It’s Raining Men. It’s a shower gel for the body and hair and maybe it smells so yum because the first ingredient listed is Honey, then Rosehip, Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily. Liquid soaps are great but there’s just something great about a bar soap. PHARMACOPIA Bar Soap in Jasmine & Clary Sage ($5.20/4oz @ pharmacopia.net). It has your basic soap ingredients like sodium palmate, sodium cocoate and glycerin and then comes the jasmine, sage, calendula and orange peel oil. Is your New Year’s resolution to use more products that use natural ingredients. This is a good start!

I know we just had a nice vacation but don’t you still feel like getting out of town? And wouldn’t you know that most of us can’t so I’ve been pretending in my bathroom with OLA HAWAII’s Pineapple Lime Cane Sugar Scrub. Not only does the Hawaiian cane sugar physically exfoliate but the papaya fruit and other natural enzymes help to exfoliate, while the organic Lehua (a Hawaiian island) honey, virgin coconut butter, coconut oil, Aloe Vera, Mango Seed Butter, and Kukui Nut Oil just to name a few, soften the skin nicely. That’s part of their mission statement for this GREEN ENVEE ORGANICS line. They also believe in finding the best fair trade ingredients to put in their products and ones that are not harmful for the environment. My first experience with the line and my first pick (good sign!) has to be the Brazilian Orange & Litsea Body Wash. Love oranges? Well this one is packed with organic sweet orange oil, mandarin, grapefruit and even tangerine oils as well as organic jojoba, aloe and vitamin E. It leaves my skin smelling like the middle of summer!

There are really no bad ingredients inside this one and it cleans and smells just as good as the cheaper ones. Yes, this one will cost you more but quality is not cheap. $18/8oz @ greenenvee.com.
