Latest In Airbrush Makeup - Belloccio

I’ve tried a few of the lines and I really believe we’ve reached the next level when it comes to airbrush makeup and it’s called BELLOCCIO. Their system contains anti-aging moisturizers like Hyaluronic Acid and aloe (this was just a matter of time though, right?). Airbrush makeup has definitely taken off and it’s not just for the professional person as I know a few people who use it as their everyday makeup. As far as the technique goes, the only challenge is finding your perfect shade, which for the average person can be just that, a challenge. With Belloccio, they try to make it less daunting by having you choose your color palette on their site. The shade families are: Fair, Medium Tan and Dark. Not too difficult. Each color set will include 4 shades (also a bottle of white and black) that fall into that color family – cool, neutral, warm, again, whichever fall into that tone family. Try one of the shades and you may find that you have to add 3 drops of one and then 1 drop of a darker one to get your exact shade. Yes, it will take some time to get the right color but that’s kind of the fun of this kind of makeup. Because once you know your mixture, you can up or down it a little depending on the time of year.

Items start at $49.99 and go up from there depending on if you get colors in addition to the foundations. I recommend the Starter Kit, which includes the compressor, airbrush w/hose, foundation set, blush trio pack, bronzer, their Anti-Aging Moisturizing Primer to help it last for hours, a tanning solution, a 4oz bottle of airbrush cleaner, instructional brochure and DVD, all for $179.99. Read more about the line @ belloccio.com.

And if you are still afraid of trying it out, I recommend checking out their YouTube channel here. Sometimes a nice visual is all you need, right?

Airbrush Foundation With the SK-II Line

I’ve never tried the Japanese line SKI-II so when I was contacted by their PR people about their Air Touch Foundation Compact, I jumped at the chance. I’ve tried the airbrush foundations before but this one seemed like a new breed of them, though the technique itself is not really considered new anymore.

What it is in a nutshell is airbrushing using a cordless round puck. It uses a AA battery inside and with the simple press of a button, a fine mist of foundation comes out.

SK-II-Air-Touch-Foundation-2

This Air Touch uses a unique ionization technology to dispense the formula of pure pigment particles and a Pitera formulation onto the skin. I’ve never seen a finer mist! So much so, that I find myself pulling it away a few times while using it on my face to try it on my hand just to make sure it’s working. And of course it always is. It’s just so super fine that I’m not used to it at all.

I feel like the originally air brushing system I used just last year is so archaic now! No cords, nothing to fill up with the liquid (this one uses a self-contained packet) and the best is there’s nothing to clean up!

The only room for improvement I see with this one is the excessive non-recyclable plastic box it comes in. Total waste. Available in four shades for $165 for starter set (puck and refill) and $90 for refill @ ski-ii.com.
