What's the Buzz with Ciate Caviar Manicure?
I’m pretty late to the CIATE Caviar Manicure party but I’m sure there are still some people who have not seen it. Maybe you? It’s 3D pearlescent beads on your nails! How original is that? I can only imagine how this idea even came up. Anyway, they’ve received a ton of press so I had to eventually try them myself, so click after the jump to see how they did!
Since
I tried to do my nails with this one, it turned out to be kind of difficult, so
I recruited my friend Ruthie to help me out so I did her nails with each set
shown here.
The
process itself is pretty easy –
Apply enclosed coat of nail polish. Wait until dry. Apply another coat and then tap-tap some of the beads covering each nail, making sure the plastic top from the set is underneath to catch the left over beads, which you can put back into the bottle using the funnel they include in the set. After letting the beads set for 15 minutes, apply a clear top coat to help them stay on better.
They
claim the look should last at least 48-hours, however, Ruthie claimed the beads
started falling off after only a few hours and just got worse from there.
So who should use this kit? If you want to schzoosh it up for an evening or just want to change your nail look for a few pick up a set for $25 @ sephora.com. And you can purchase the items separately too.
And they just came out with the Sequined Manicure, which is nice for all the holiday parties coming up. It’s basically the same concept, except using glitter, which I think could have been more finely milled here as it's pretty chunky. I believe the set retails for the same prices as the Caviar and they debut this month.
Do you think you will rock either of these?
