Just because temps are dropping doesn’t mean your grooming upkeep has to fall (pun intended) by the waist side too. Two I just got my paws on and are now perched tub-side are from the CLIO brand. Somebody pinch me because I can’t stop staring with glee at the eye items in Blue Illusion de Chanel. Reviewed and swatched here are the two eye shadows and eye liner.

The collection is described as, ”Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, borrows the intangible hues of summer blue. Like a cloud-strewn sky, eyes take up shimmering reflections that change with the light.  The juvenile grace of an almost nude face showcases eyes with marine depths, mellowed by the radiance of blue tones.
On eyelids, ILLUSION D'OMBRE takes on a scintillating and satiny effect that makes eye makeup glow with each bat of the lashes. I like to think that I’m finicky when it comes to perfumes but the number of bottles on my dressing table shown here in this picture might tell a different story altogether.

The latest I can’t get enough of is by the uniquely named company, JULIETTE HAS A GUN. At first I was more fascinated by the name of the company as this could have been a jewelry line, or a brand of clothing but fragrance is what they specialize in.

The latest release is an eau de parfum called Romantina and in reading up on the background of the scent, I came across this recent review by fellow beauty blogger The Non-Blonde and it brings up some great points. The only area I have to disagree is to the way this brand is able to make the cluster of notes hang on to the skin longer than most mass-produced fragrances, as she puts it, ones you find in Bloomingdales. For this one, the dry down is a morph of rich feminine floral blossom with a touch of musk and it lasts for hours, not so much where it enters a room before you do, but more in that anyone in your intimate space will probably get a light whiff of it, which is how perfume should be.

This one’s story is described as:

“For this new episode, I wanted to bring a hint of frivolity into Juliette’s life. Romantina is a modern tale, as refreshing as an afternoon at the café of a Roman piazzetta. First floral fragrance of Juliette has a Gun’s collection, its gentleness is only an appearance. Lifted by a touch of Patchouli, Romantina is a comtemporary [sic] romance where once again, Juliette will get the last word. Romano Ricci"

I’ve really come to love SHISEIDO’s lippies and totally think they’re underrated. The brand really seems to think of every detail when it not only comes to the actual lip product but the packaging details like the container, the brush, and the latest is called Lacquer Rouge.
