Review+Swatches - LUSH Makeup!
I never thought I’d see the day when LUSH put out makeup items, and I don’t mean that in a bad way, just very surprised. We have items for lips, eyes and cheeks. The first collection (how awesome does that sound??) is called Emotional Brilliance and consists of 13 Liquid Lip Colors, 11 Liquid Eyeliners and 6 Cream Eye Shadows. And instead of just focusing on what color you like, they are rolling it out with a game attached – a game that has you pick your colors based on your mood. Take a “spin” here.
Like a lot of their products, they pay attention to what’s not inside each product like parabens, mineral oils and making them vegan.
So as with everything on this site and what you want to know is … how did they perform? Click after the jump to see how they held up as well as more pictures.
Shown here: Liquid Lipstick in Perspective (dusky rose), Cream Eyeshadow in Focus (iridescent blue/gray), Liquid Eyeliner in Motivation (two-tone peacock)
Let’s look at each item individually. First, the Liquid Lipstick in Perspective - a total YLBB color, this one felt super moisturizing on the lips probably due to the organic jojoba oil, candelillia and rose wax. Though not transferable, it did last on my lips for a few hours (without eating or drinking anything). I give this one a grade of a B+.
Cream
Eyeshadow in Focus – I totally loved this color in the bottle as I have a new
dress from here and this would go perfectly. The color went on smoothly but I
couldn’t seem to get an even coat of it on my lid so before it was fully dried
I blended it around so it just left a light sheen over my lid. I give this one
a grade of a B.
Liquid
Eyeliner in Motivation – this blue is simply gorgeous and it applied easily and
smoothly. Sadly though, it started to fade off my lids after only about 2
hours. I give this one a grade of C-.
$22.95/.2oz
each @ lush.com.

Thanks for the review of these! I'm a big fan of LUSH bath products, and I was wondering what the new makeup was like. I was surprised to see it in the latest LUSH Times! The colours look really vivid and pretty, not at all "crunchy" or "hippie"-like which can sometimes be the case with colour cosmetics from natural companies. Gonna have to try some of these!

The colors are pretty but sucks that they fade.

Hi Kelli! Nice to hear from you. I would try some in their store and then see how it lasts on you. Let me know how you do!!

Hi Phyrra - yeah, the only one I really ended up liking was the lipstick. :(
