Review+Swatches - Smashbox Shades of Fame Palette
I think I’ve been neglecting my lids lately, as in, I’ve been so into summery colors on my lips, I’ve forgotten that there are a ton of shadows out there just begging to be warn and are perfect for the season. One is from SMASHBOX. It’s one of those “valued at XXX but sells for XX” and called Shades of Fame. It features nine powder eye shadows, two cream eye liners, a dual-tipped eye brush, a sampler of their Photo Finish Lid Primer and a step-by-step booklet on how to create three different looks.
So what jumps out of this 7” x 4” palette? Of course the bright ones, Pacific (shimmery aqua) and Sherbert (shimmery coral) and then Mocha (toasted brown with gold flakes) for contouring along with Safari (deep golden green). And I love a good base color that I apply from the lashes clear up to the eye brow, so that will be Bliss (pale golden beige) and for those days when lips are going to do the talking with my look, there’s the beautiful Nude color. All-in-all, a great palette with totally wearable shades where some of them will transition nicely into other seasons. Nice work Smashbox!
Oh and in case you wanted to fill in the blanks, this one has a value of $181 but sells for $48 @ smashbox.com. Nice!!
