Review: MAC Ruffian Manicure
I was really excited about the nails MAC was putting out in the new Ruffian Collection. The designs are so fashion forward and fun! I love wearing fake nails once in a while so how did these fair?
Well I thought MAC would have maybe researched what makes for good false nails as the only thing good about these are the design. Each nail comes with the gel glue already inside each one, so I guess you would call these ones press-on, which I am not a fan of. Not only do they not stay on and easily wiggle if they touch something, but they just sit too high on the nail itself.
I tried the Demoiselle shown here, which is such a beautiful design. While I see what they were trying to do, some of the half-moons are just off as in off center. And the half-moon shape at the base is much too small to be realistic but out of the three designs, this is the case with this one only.
The other two designs, Spectator and Demilune, look a little more doable but overall don’t think I would wear these out on the town for fear of one flinging off and pinging someone in the eye.
This has to be the most untested item I’ve seen the brand put out in some time. I think what could have made them better is if there was an option to have the glue inside or to glue them on with nail glue. I would have for sure had a better fit should I have been able to use nail glue. Not recommended. $25 @ maccosmetics.com.
