I was reading one of the major beauty magazines recently and they brought up an interesting thought – using a leave-in hair conditioner is akin to using a makeup primer in the hair. Hmmmm, never thought of it but it makes sense. I guess part of the reason this info stood out is that I’ve been religiously using one from a new line of hair care called CABELLA. The packaging is vintage inspired and the products contain their own B-Reparative Complex, which is made up of three Certified Essential Oils (Certified Bilberry Seed Oil, Certified Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil and Certified Black Currant Seed Oil) to help maintain the hair’s healthy makeup.

I’ve been using the Leave-In Hair Conditioner & Protectant ($25/5oz @ cabellahair.com) and feel like the  products I use afterward really do seem to perform better. It contains the above complex and other hair nurturing ingredients like Panthenol, among others, and also important, of course, the scent! It’s a pleasant combo of citrus and sandalwood but very subtle.

Off the top of my head I don’t know many organic let alone anti-aging hair care lines. I have a feeling this line could set a trend.

I just finished off the last of the pumpkin pie leftover from Christmas dinner and I don’t think I will ever get sick of pumpkin but it’s nice to get a break. So instead of increasing my waist line, I’ll settle for JUNE JACOBS’ Perfect Pumpkin Peeling Enzyme Masque.

There’s no hotter beauty item these days then nail polish. It’s for sure a major accessory with quite a few blogs just devoted to its diversity. One line I was just made aware of is called JULEP and I’m sure they will be around for a while. What started as a nail parlor with four locations in the Seattle area has turned an ordinary mani/pedi into a whole chic experience.As for us that don’t live in the Northwest will have to let the Nail Vernis or Nail Polish line do the talking.

I’m a little late getting to LAURA MERCIER’s limited edition Kohl Eye Pencil Set ($45 @ lauramercier.com) as they came out as part of their holiday collection but they are worth the wait. While I think the colors look kind of hard and dry in person, they couldn’t be smooth or easier going on. Kohl liners are known to be both, which makes them great for smudging but you still have to investigate.
